The freedoms we enjoy are only realized when you need them and they are not there.
@VoicesofHistory Жыл бұрын
Yes, we are fighting for the same freedoms today in our own country that our Veterans fought for on foreign soil.
@chrisbohanon4032 ай бұрын
Absolutely!! I myself realized in 2020 what my friend who was in Vietnam said you don't know freedom until you lose it! He was right!! First thing was our first amendment! Then our second amendment throughout half the country! And then the president of the country said he will destroy your life and family if you don't take a experiential drug!!! Also couldn't work without a mask on our face that we were told didn't work!! Jesus Christ people!! Everything our brave soldiers fought for are almost gone now unless we as citizens stand up!! Please God ! Vote Trump and let's take our god given rights back!! Or become a subject for ever!! And I'm of the old belief better dead than red!!! God let's save this country!!!

Millions of Vietnamese civilians and thousands of US young men were slaughtered in a useless war. It was service to the Military Industrial Complex.

On a day as beautiful as this, one has to really appreciate the sacrifices made by these men who endured the heat, humidity and whatever else lurking in the unknown. Thank you so very much, and God bless.

Thank you Lt. Egleston for sharing your story. It's great to listen to each of you folks for your perspective of the war you were in. It's also amazing how each of your stories fit with what others have said to build a more complete picture of that war, and the lives of all combat vets in other wars. Thank you Sir for your service, and welcome home.

Thank you for sharing these stories with all of us of 1980 vintage …growing up in rural 🇨🇦, our limited TV channel set up piped in a steady showing of ‘Tour of Duty’ This was my only exposure to the Vietnam experience until I had the chance to travel to Vietnam mid 2000’s. The depth of this war runs deep ! Thank you for all that have served.

Very true words about today's attitudes, sir. I am 76 and often think about my friends that lost their lives in Vietnam. I also think about my dad that was in WW 2, in Europe. I have his draft notice and it indicates that your service tour will be from enlistment day until the duration of the war. Not one year -until the war is won by the Allies, or you are killed or injured and can't fight anymore. My thanks always goes to those that served and I thank you.

Thank you Tom for your service to our country. Although I am a veteran from 68-72, I didn’t go to Vietnam. All of my friends and family who did are no longer alive to share their stories. I value your memories and wish you all the best. I salute 🫡 you.

Shame these young men were enlisted to fight on the other side of the world against people who never did them any harm. So many lost their lives for the MIC.

Weird how he talks about the anti-war protestors at the beginning and then mentions how they listened to The Stones, The Beatles, The Doors etc who were part of that protest movement.
