Chet, I appreciate your kind words about this story. Many pass right over these old Veterans and miss a great opportunity to learn from the Greatest Generation.

I love the detail that only personal accounts can give. There's nothing that compares to the emotion that a hesitation in an answer or a description of an event that is the result of personal witness. This work is invaluable, thank you Larry for your dedication to the task God has given you.

Brother Pat, always great to hear from you here on this channel. Mr. Botkin's story has been silent in my archives. I am glad to be able to share his story today. The burial at sea is not heard of very much. He was emotional telling as I would have been if I was there. God bless you my friend!!

That was a hard hill to climb, with James as he depicted , 🌹the burial of his comrade at sea 😢 ✝️ their memory lives on in living history because of his account of the events during that era in our country's history 🇺🇸

It was a honor Rita to meet Jim in Dinuba 14 years ago and documented his story. It would have been lost if we didn't record it that day in 2010. The burial at sea has to be a very sad moment, which he experienced many times. I hope others will wake up and view these stories.

The WW2 vets Are the most amazing generation that's ever lived. My great grandfather was a WW2 VET. 9 of uncle's served, Korean War, and Vietnam. all came back. my grandmother served in WW2. I will try to get my mom to talk to my uncle in Michigan. He served in Vietnam and he's never talked about it. The only thing I've ever heard him say was on the phone with my mom.A couple weeks ago, my dad had half his foot. amputated and she was telling him it stunk.my uncle then said you don't know stinky til . You've been around decomposing bodies in Vietnam. I would love to see if my mom can. Maybe I can give you my uncle's number and maybe you can get him to talk about it. His name ' William Hyde '
