I am proud to say that Sgt McKeever did help to spread our American way of life. Anyone that does not recnognize that people, not governments, welcome our our way of life into theirs are the ones who have contributed nothing toward freedom's cost. Thank you Sgt McKeever for your service, and for your contribution to spreading that precious gift of freedom. Save family, I cannot imagine that anything else I have is more valuable. For those that showed disrespect to you, the country, and our flag, I'll not share my thoughts out of respect for you and Mr. Cappetto.

James. Did you ever cross paths with Willie Lovejoy? I joined an Army Reserve unit a few years after coming home from Vietnam. The Army assigned him as our Active Duty Truck Master around 1984. He was a great soldier and taught us a lot. I have been to Tanker Valley at Long Binh during my duties at Long Binh in 1968/1969. Welcome home brother.

This is by far one of the best Interviews yet! This SFC is telling it like is, and I hope that his message is heard and really understood by the powers that be. Sergeants are the backbones of the US Military, they know and understand the troops better than the "Flag Officers" because they are teachers of the lower ranking Officers who tend to give orders that conflict with real life on the battlefield. Thanks' SFC McKeever!.

McKeever’s interview is honest, brutal - in that it offers the perspective of a person of color and it’s truths - interesting in that he is proud to have served his country though declares the war was an error. He is critical of all Bush administration people who were in Vietnam themselves and yet continue in the old ways, are old school and out of touch. He offers a very valuable perspective, quite a bit different than other interviews. McKeever pulls no punches ❤

Great interview! Thank you to you both. One part that got me is when he said we cannot cut and run like we did in Vietnam. American history repeated itself and I am not in a position to point fingers because there are so many factors leading to the failure in Afghanistan. Sgt. McKeever touched on a lot of racial issues that were very enlightening but he is a proud American. His process of dealing with PTSD is encouragement to do for more for our vets is an important message.

In my minds eye, being drafted you felt an obligation to fight for your country, BUT no matter how well trained you are, when the true combat starts, all that goes away, except for the training, then you are fighting for survival!
