He has that very calm, centered vibe that must have served him well in what he went through. Some folks are naturally like that, i don't think its something you see in a lot of people, I really admire it.

I met COL Ehlers many years ago at a First Infantry Division reunion. What a low key class act gentleman. He was more interested in hearing about my time in Vietnam than talking about himself. God Bless America!!

I met this man at my first job at the Sears in Buena Park. He bought a garage door opener. I had no idea who he was. I brought out his garage door opener and put it into his small suv. As we closed the back I noticed his license plate said Medal of Honor recipient. I was blown away. I shook his hand and thanked him for his service. I can’t believe I met this man at the time. If anyone were to ask who is the most memorable person I have ever met, it would be this man.

I attended Walter Ehlers’ funeral at Riverside (CA) National Cemetery. An incredible service attended by hundreds of dignitaries, military officers, enlisted men and women, cadets and civilians.

We know why Mr. Ehler's service duty is so renowned in United States History involving America in the Second World War. His story of suffering combat and being effective and skilled through it is monumental compelling reason why America was victorious.

Interesting what he said about being able to walk from boat to boat for a mile. My Pop landed on D-Plus 6 I think it was with Company G of the 120th Regiment of the 30 th Infantry Division and he said it looked like you could walk all the way to England there were so many boat ships and what have you packed into the area.

Those beach heads should have been shelled by the battleships first. The beach itself should have been shelled to allow the troops some cover.

Dear Author/Producer . Just a thought . One hour 7 mins. I just watched 20mins. I want to watch the rest . But will I set an hour aside? I respectfully sugest that you do a bite sized edit with a link to the full video. I dont think anyone under sixty in the these modern times will ever watch over an hour without a "trailer" . I respect what you have done and Walters testimony it deserves to be seen and heard. 5 min highlight . 10min trailer and then once you have the viewers interest the hour . Richard

what they need to do is post this on spotify(or other streaming services) for the poeple who listen while they drive/work and ect. the over 1hr videos would be best marketed towards that demographic
