@Kase Trey I would have to disagree I think they both suffered in their own way. The hollow knight failed to be the perfect vessel and therefore was being controlled and tormented by the very thing he was supposed to keep sealed away while the knight was rejected by his brother and fell down to the pit filled with the rest of his siblings corpses and considered a failure like his other siblings. With the hollow knight just looking back knowing he was fully alive and chose not to help. Yeah this family has some serious issues but than again “No cost too great”

The more I think, the more I find Pale King's requirements for "perfect vessel" makes no sense even from the very beginning. If he wanted a vessel that has no mind to think he should've grabbed a void that is unable to interact with him, not the one that is able to _think_ about how to ascend the abyss

@@skettlu2344 not even the vessel we play as is fully hollow, we can see very faint hints of them thinking about things and people. A good example of this is how The last stag's name changes to the old stag. My interpretation of that is the knight is the one who thought about it.

One thing that I regret, is that when I first got true ending I was following a guide, or at least for a majority of it. I think it would have been much more meaningful and rewarding if I had just stumbled upon the ending on my own.

You born around your dead siblings, you had to climb all around your empty siblings, you had to look every of them falling, you reach the top, and you see the king, your father, he tells you to follow him, and in that moment, you saw your first live sibling, you know your destiny, and you decide to ignore him, you saved him from a nightmare without any return, Now your only reason to live, is to seal a powerful entity, but no worries, you're a empty vessel, you don't have any feelings... right?, your dad raised you as a son, and unfortunately, you developed a feeling for your dad, you had feelings for the first time and perhaps that, you got the worst and traumatizing destiny possible, seal radiance to save the kingdom, you were a empty vessel, no feeling, and now, you're a vessel conscious of your actions, having feelings for your dad was your worst error. now, you don't have voice to cry, and no mind to think, you're born from a god and the void, destined to seal the light that plagues the dreams of your kingdom, you're the vessel, you're the Hollow Knight, now, because of your error, you didn't completed your mission, the only reason to live, seal the vessel, now you're suffering no as a empty soul, but as a soul full of feelings, you have to suffer, your kingdom is getting infected by the radiance, your king, your father, is dead, and all you can do, is look over all that destruction.

I think the true requirement for a vessel is the lack of attachment. The Hollow Knight grew attachment to the king, and so it created a place in its soul that wasn't hollow. That connection to the king made it desperate, and once its emotions began to take over, the Hollow Knight was finished.
