Literally one of the greatest bands in the history of metal. Every album is so unique and absolutely mind blowing. Definitely my second fav band behind Priest. Criminally underrated, but so glad they are starting to get the recognition they truly deserve 🤘

Been a fan since their debut. Yes I'm old. Cool aspect about voivod you can hear sounds off of their debut album (from the 80s) on their new album. Phenomenal band...one of the great metal bands of all time IMHO.

just a thought for you: as someone who likes a fair amount of "metal" but identifies as an old Punk- a lot of current Metal seems to owe more to Punk than metal: I mean, starting with NWOBHM bands (Judas Priest to Diamond Head) the thing that made it new was an injection of Punk into metal. Then, from Hardcore punk to "crossover" to Thrash, it's a pretty seamless line, (and this is where Voivod comes in) then, back on the "punk" side, from Post-hardcore, to Sludge metal to post Metal is also pretty seamless- which is where Mastodon comes in- they're pretty obviously a slightly more "metal" take on Neurosis, Buzz Ov*en, and Amebix. So, I think you're correct on the connections- which is why I've been a Voivod fan for so long- since the late 1980's. I think of what they're doing, and have always done, is a more Metal version of Punk stuff, like The Minutemen, Nomeansno, Discharge, and Articles of Faith. Keep in mind, ultimately, it doesn't matter- good damn music is just goddamn good, whether you call it Metal, Punk, Jazz or Country.

Great album, great career. I got into them in the 2000 when Jason Newstead played with them. Very unique style, the album is very unpredictable. I agree with the score, there is nothing bad to say about this album.

Voivod was always a band that i never really got i to truth be told. I liked killing technology and dimension hatross but i didnt really like much else. I always gave their albums a listen but it wasnt my cup of tea i didnt care much for the wake, target earth was ok but it just didnt resonate. This album however clicked with me damn near instantly. I loved it so much that ive had to give their other works a relisten and now i feel as if i always heard the band but i never really LISTENED to the band you know? Its went from some obscure band that id give a listen to whenever theyd release music to their music being on repeat and probably in my top 5 favourite bands. Weird how this band after decades only now just clicked.
