I think I know what Jude did: He was jobless, felt worthless and started to develop depresion. That started to strain the relationship with his wife that led to the divorce with shared custody of Adam. Becouse of all going wrong, Jude didn't have energy to fix his marriage nor taking proper care of his son, so he LEFT THE TV ON for Adam to calm him, like most TV do to childs. Jude didn't care for the TV Destruction program, he was just to depressed to even belive it was dangerous. Becouse of his negligence, while he wasn't at home and left Adam with the TV on, Adam got kidnaped by the alternate. His Mother, worried with justification, goes to see his child early while Jude was out, finds the crib empty and the Alternate mocking her on the TV. Jude comes back to the house to find his ex wife dead and his son missing. The new alternate, imagined by Adam, is found by Jude. He calls the cops and then runs. Nobody knows what happened to his family and Jude keeps it secret. His negligence and innaction led to the death of his family. He is haunted by the Alternates that are using his gilt. What I am not so sure is, by following the Sheperd's Tale... When did Jude wished for Adam back? That could be why the current Adam is especial... he wasn't replaced by force by an Alternate, it was an Alternate twisting the wish of Jude and later forgot that it wasn't human by growing up normaly.
@FullCircleStories5 ай бұрын

maybe he wished for adam back when he was wallowing in his home in the video with the tv on hoping the alternate or something would bring him back the way he was taken (or just that he could confront it for answers) but the cost for "adam" returning to his crib in the other room was his own life like how the shepard starts being attacked by gabriel at the end of the claymation segment while the alternate lamb rises
@Omaen95 ай бұрын
@@luvcherry Funny thing is, we don't know if Jude is dead in the later years. It was implied that Adam was "affected" by her mother passing but there is no mention of Jude later in the timeline or how Adam was raised with no parents. My guess is that he survived this attempt (Vol 5), making the alternates frustrated and went with the false hope route, but somehow Jude managed to trick the alternate that it was human.
@Little-DudeАй бұрын
This also explains the Doctor call. The family has been dysfunctional for awhile which most likely prompted several doctor visits. Jude was being seen - and being treated - for his depression but perhaps wasn't making the right moves to actually better himself. When Jude calls about moving the Doctor thinks he's finally taking positive steps to healing.

Poor Wendigoon... I just figured Judas started the whole thing because the TV came from somewhere. It would track if he got a black market TV to distract the baby. I know a few parents who do that just to make noise on the hope they won't have to get up as often. So Judas could have easily betrayed his family by getting the tv, setting it up in the baby's room, and turning it on. He either didn't believe, or he figured it was worth the risk to get more sleep. And it killed his family.

So the guy on the phone HAS to be an Alternate, because it doesn't make sense otherwise. First off, the one thing you missed was that the person sent to pick Jude up was coming in a Ford Taurus, the same car talked about in the beginning from the USDTP. It was always shown driving into Mandela but never out of it. Secondly, the idea that Jude was going to be warmly welcomed by the people in his new home. It doesn't make sense for a service offering a new life free of your old one would make a huge celebration for you, as it draws way too much attention. Lastly, the line about him being a deadbeat, knowing what Jude did and telling Jude to off himself made it 100% clear that it was an Alternate trap. Jude not getting in the car foiled the plan of the Alternates, being the second time he willingly went against the plans they laid out for him (The first being not hanging himself when Adam was taken).
@hanaeve__5 ай бұрын
And I believe that's exactly why he's used as the representation of the Shepherd. If anything, he consistently decided to follow the Shepherd as he (unintentionally) continued to go against the Alternates' plans (and in general, Gabriel's) by not doing what they expected of him.
@sfsin33805 ай бұрын

@batyalivni35775 ай бұрын
I would agree wholeheartedly with this, but there's one thing I don't understand; why, then, would an alternate block the way out, if the car was a trap to begin with? Jude tells phone guy that "someone was there", which is why he didn't leave; phone guy gets angry. Maybe it ties into the idea of there being more than one faction? Or maybe they needed Jude alive for some reason?
@TrxPsyche5 ай бұрын
@@batyalivni3577 this unfortunately is kinda difficult to figure out because we never see the pickup attempt. I can only speculate that Jude was overly paranoid about everything and lost his nerve after the phone call with his doctor. It's also possible that Jude can tell when something isn't right concerning Alternates, and realized the driver was an Alternate, which spooked him into chickening out. The only basis I have for that speculation is that Jude is depicted as the Shepherd in the claymation section, and the biggest takeaway from that section is that the Shepherd is never fooled by the falsehoods, only terrorized by them.
@hopelessgamer25385 ай бұрын
The car is apparently used for smuggling people out of Mandela county so it makes perfect sense that it was never spotted leaving. They almost certainly would use hidden routes or routes away from cameras to avoid their clients being spotted. Terrifying implication I just noticed: The Shepherd in the claymation scene is supposed to parallel Jude, who is supposed to parallel Judas, from the Bible, clearly. But… The scene could also reference Judas asking for forgiveness after the death of Christ. The Lamb is often associated with Christ, and it being dead would be representative of him being dead. Judas asking the Angel “Gabriel” for forgiveness, only for the Angel to point out that the lamb is alive again… but different, no longer in the claymation style of the rest of the world in that scene… It has a terrible implication of this world’s Christ, being replaced after the Crucifixion by something malicious, something wrong... Imagine, if you will, Jesus dies on the cross… and sin enters his heart… but he is not pure enough to cleanse it as he ascends to Heaven. The path to salvation is never opened for Humanity, Jesus never returns after three days, and in order to enter Heaven, we still have to follow the old teachings. But of course… we wouldn’t know this, because Christ DID return… or at least, something looking like him did. Imagine what came back, was the first evil, and corrupted the church from its very foundation. It wouldn’t take much, just a single sin, a single bite of the proverbial apple… and Christ is replaced by “Gabriel”. The teachings of the church could even be the same: Baptism, prayers, Psalms, Hymns, ect… but since the sacrifice was not pure and fitting in God’s eyes, Mankind’s sin is not forgiven, and any who were deceived into believing they were would be damned forever. That is why this series is terrifying to me, Mankind has already lost. They don’t know the correct way to appease God anymore, and maybe, after all these centuries, and the murder of his most favored Son, a literal part of himself… maybe he has given up on us. I love this series so much 😅 That’s such a horrifying concept to me.

@Mad_Heretek5 ай бұрын
@@Iaminsideofyourwalls while I agree and know this to be true, Mandela Catalog is an alternate universe to the one we, biblically speaking, exist in. If our version of Judas had been approached by a being claiming to be an Angel, perhaps he would have asked forgiveness as well. We don’t know, because in our universe, he didn’t believe he deserved forgiveness for his sin, hence the hanging himself. I’m just saying that I think in this hypothetical, I don’t believe Jesus was replaced by an Alternate, UNTIL the crucifixion was happening. Hence Judas in the video witnessing the lamb come back from death, but wrong. Idk, just my theory, it would make sense IMO that Judas would have asked an Angel if he was forgiven, even after his sin. It was Jesus, who he traveled with and preached alongside that told him that any sin was forgivable, after all. Perhaps he thought this Angel could absolve him in this other world.

You know something I’ve noticed is that almost all of the alternates we’ve seen have usually been represented in a way where they look like smear frames as physical attributes. The big head for example looks like a persons head being affected by a smear frame. So maybe in order to make more alternates they need the technology, and without it they can’t make more? Idk

I think I figured it out. Jude watches the TV all the time as as we know, that can bring in the Alternates... and then Alternate Thatcher reminds him that there's a law about breaking the TVs and mirrors. So... what if Jude didn't listen? He certainly keeps watching the TV even when he's already aware of the danger, either out of habit or simply because he doesn't care anymore. I can see Jude not obeying the law and not destroying it and letting little Adam watch the TV. So in a way... he's the one who brought the Alternate in, or at the very least, opened the door to letting Adam manifest them into reality. If Jude listened to the law and took the dangers seriously, nothing would've happened and I think that's the guilt that torments Jude because he knows it.

what i'm thinking is that alternate Gabriel is most definitely not who he says he is, in terms of being alive during the biblical times, but rather this is him inserting himself into various forms of media to not only trick HIS world into believing he is god, but US as well. and that this whole thing only took so long because he JUST started in '92

This reminds me of a concept I read about 15 years ago. I’m paraphrasing but it went something like this. “If I was Satan and I wanted to corrupt the world, I would go to earth and proclaim myself as their new savior and use my angelic powers and immortality as a testament of this. I would go about teaching the world that the only thing they had to do for forgiveness was to simply ask. Instead of them actually having to make sacrifices, repentance, making those who they hurt whole again, and them needing to change their ways. That’s all, they just need to ask for forgiveness and it will be granted.” Such simple minds.

@46:00 Assuming that's Adam's alternate assaulting Judas, and Judas commits suicide after seeing Adam, then Judas -- distraught at the sight of his missing infant -- wouldve taken his own life. I have no idea if this is intentional on Alex's part, but if it is...wow... Perhaps Judas mightve brought Adam into it because the TV ban was already in effect when Adam summoned the alternate? I'd have to go back and look at the timeline, but currently thats the only idea I could come up with.

I'm not that into this series, but I absolutely loved the animated parts of this video. The stop motion esk style (probably done in blender), the voice acting, the whole atmosphere and how perfectly it replicated the vibe of those old stop motion children's films, all while having this strange underlying unease, the feeling that something is very wrong, it was chef's kiss. I would love if this whole series was just an animated horror. The "look at me, what's wrong?" scene was SO well executed and the buildup was perfect.

• Timoril: • The root “Timor-” could come from the Latin word timor, meaning “fear” or “dread.” • The suffix “-il” is common in medication names, possibly implying a soothing or relieving effect (like in antihistamines or antidepressants). • Ferazapam: • The suffix “-azepam” strongly suggests it is part of the benzodiazepine family, a class of drugs used for their sedative, anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), and muscle-relaxing properties. • “Fera-” could derive from feral or ferae (Latin for “wild” or “beast-like”), hinting at uncontrollable or primal emotions like terror or rage.

i don't necessarily think the shot of the person hanging was meant to represent the alternates urging judas to suicide, (and i think its especially interesting that he's missing one of his arms (at least it looks that way?), although i don't know what it means). i think the hanging might be a means of taunting judas, like "look at what your wife did you coward, why couldn't you do the same?" or it might even be the exact image of his wife. my personal theory is that this is simply a tie to the bible itself-- in the gospel of matthew, judas dies by hanging after his grief and regret consumes him. maybe this is meant to symbolize this? just a thought... edit: grammar :)

About Jude inviting the alternates in: This depends on *when* the Television and Mirror Destruction Order was issued. Adam didn't buy that Stanley tape himself, someone (likely one of his parents) would have had to buy it for him as a gift. And if Jude bought a VHS tape for his kid to watch on an analog TV *after* both those things were ordered destroyed... yeah, laws exist for a reason.
