Since 2009 all I've eaten is Volbeat... I've seen them live in Montreal in a bar called club soda, once at rock on the range and to this day I can't listen to anyone else for my musical healing.... healing subconsciously with volbeat has kept me going through chronic pain for years! Thank you Volbeat for being around! In Montreal they asked for a song request and everyone screamed for Evelyn, I was the only one loud enough with the only request for who they are... Michael points to me to hear it again and I scream at the top of my lungs and BOOM! They drop right into it! That show was so small and personal that to this day it's my top 3 shows I've been to. Plus CKY opened for them. Strippers poutine and VOLBEAT!!!

This goes out to everyone thinking Volbeat are devil worshippers. Ok so I am a Christian that loves metal and Volbeat is in my top 3 bands. After taking some consideration into the lyrics, every time volbeat puts out a new song I find that they are always stories about someone or something in history at some point. Their Shady Ladies album had a lot of stories for example. I listen to The Sacred Stones song and I hear a story about a person who has lost their way with God/Light and has decided to look to the Devil/Darkness instead. I never take it as Michael Poulson himself, but a character of the story and song. This song, Devil Rages On is more about the ancient ones and how the devil is in disguise all the time trying to get you to give into temptation. This is easily my favorite album of Volbeat. But you must listen to everything with a grain of salt. Understand Michael Paulson is using these ancient gods or beings as material to write music. The album is called servant of the mind. Meaning you're a slave to your own self in what you believe. Think deeper.
@sarmaniyan74363 жыл бұрын
I like the way you think. As a Christian myself I'm struggling to discover the deeper meaning in most of their songs and what they truly are.

Exactly. The devil disguised himself as Volbeat and now he's got you.
@daniellawrence57893 жыл бұрын
@@godd226 I think so too. Where is the best place to hide the Devil? Right in your face. The great deceiver. I know other Christian bands like Skillet. They don't hide. They scream their faith. Never bend, never break. This band never praises God. But they do praise the Devil.

Okay, So I love Volbeat's music and they are my fav band. I can see by reading the comments that there is some debate about what this song may or may not be about. Many of their song have some pretty dark overtones and it is easy to interpret them as advocating for evil. However, I think this is an incorrect interpretation of the music. If you read between the lines, I think this song and others by Volbeat act more as a warning against falling for Satan's lies. If you listen to all of Volbeat's songs you see there are many that speak of letting the "Light" be your guide and not to give into the darkness we all have inside us. Listen carefully and don't take the lyrics out of context. Volbeat emits a very hopeful and positive vibe to me. What is your opinion? I would love to hear it.
@BigYosh2 жыл бұрын
That’s how I want to look at it, I’m a Christian and I love this bands sound, but I don’t really like the satanic undertones. While I want to take what you said as it’s meaning, I feel like it’s more likely that they are just a little satanic
@suba-dude55162 жыл бұрын
@Big Yoshi Same here. I really love the song, but then I actually studied what it says, and to me, it is more like a satan worshipping song. A masterpiece, but still, I like it but avoid it as a Christian. The song has great tunes and vocals, but I can't hide the fact on the meaning.
@aethyry64682 жыл бұрын
Michael has said in interviews that it's about is about the devil taking human form and about his experience with ghosts.
@ronnieredneck91622 жыл бұрын
I haven’t listened to a lot of their music as far as lyrics go. But I started listening to this record. And I immediately felt like I needed to listen or rather read the lyrics. I’m not sure this is the only song on this record that is a conjuring of the darkness that is rising or may be rather falling into this realm. Whether this song is a warning or not it is a simple clear conjuring. There can be no debate I do not believe about whether or not this is a conjuring song or not. It is calling for the dark to come into this world. And it doesn’t read like a story as many of the other songs of this genre are presented as . For instance iron maiden’s number of the beast or slayers Born of Fire. I think listening to the rest of the album might be important before coming to a decision. But I don’t want to hear this song in my head over and over again. And I listen to this kind of stuff and have all my life. I just don’t want to be hearing the lyrics of conjuring the dark one from the valley over and over again. Which is what happens when you listen to the songs. You sing them in your head all day long. So I like the song I like the sound and the singer is extraordinary. But I’m not choosing this darkness that’s coming. I’m choosing grace and light and kindness. And I don’t want to hear these words repeating committing oneself and thought to the dark ““ Lord“. Sometimes those who are committed to Darkness hide their commitment for a long time before being honest about it. As it says in the song we have laid in hiding and are getting ready to show ourselves. And that whoever is singing is happy about that. That heaven built the kingdom or the castle of sin. This is a prayer to the Darkside. I don’t know if their intention was to point that out or just channel what is occurring now but it’s far too literal for me to be comfortable with hearing over and over again. That’s my take. I don’t think we should be defending the darkness when it’s presented so clearly to us. We may not want this band to be committed to this thing but a spade is a spade. If it looks like shit and it smells like shit don’t taste it because it’s probably shit. No matter what whoever is reading this I send you blessings of grace and light and acceptance. I suggest that you get as clear as you can in your intent to face these next years ahead of us if we are actually meant to face them. What seems like fantasy is becoming more real to this place we live in. We need to be careful with our intentions and our thoughts and our actions. And I think we need to find a way to accept and understand this other force that is coming here or revealing itself. Because the most important thing is to be less afraid then to be more afraid. And if we are not ready for these things revealing themselves we are going to be exceptionally panicked I think. There is something to learning to except what is frightening, scary, dark in regards to our own ability to be connected to something greater than fear in these things show themselves. If that in fact happens. If we let it in enough I’m pretty sure it’s guaranteed to happen. If we realize what the game is and choose to step out of it then we may not have to bear witness to such madness. Time will tell. Blessings brother’s blessing sisters.
@ronnieredneck91622 жыл бұрын
Also no matter what the actual intent was when they get asked the question on whether or not They are conjuring up the dark one they will have an excuse and a story to say they’re not. They’re not that brave.
