Volca Keys Tutorial: Spooky, Spacey, Ghosty Lead!
Today I've got the Korg Volca Keys, and I'm gonna show you how to design one of absolute favorite lead sounds! The great thing about this lead is that we don't need any external effects to make it pop, just the Volca Keys and some patience. Enjoy the video!

There's honestly a lot you can do with it, especially impressive given its price

I just got my Keys and your clear way of explaining how to do things with it is already super helpful. Stating where you set the knobs using clock positions is a god send. Thank you.

Thanks for this, I'm off to practice on my Keys. I like the way you demonstrate each step from scratch, at an easy pace and showing the effect of each step to the sound produced. I'd love more like this on any Volca, PO etc. Loved the added "Spooky/ Ghost" apparition reflecting off the ribbon keyboard :-)

Haha there's always a "face reveal" when I use the Volca Keys. Glad you liked the video, I just try to make each step feel like it truly is part of the overall process. Thanks for watching!

I dont know why but i love that the short portamento ignores the attack, making the glide so good when u play it straight after the initial note (which has a high attack)
@FreeBeat
@FreeBeat 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the glide on this is what sells it for me, especially combined with that tight delay!

I love it. Great tutorial. A picture of the patch or a list of the settings in the description would be handy so’s not to have to watch the whole thing through again (helps your stats though!). Cheers. Lee

Can you chain patterns together on the volca keys or do you need to cue them by hand like the Roland S1

Hi, how could I connect the volca to a midi controller? Would I need a controller with midi out though? I have an Arturia MINILAB MKII
@FreeBeat

Yes, you'd need a controller with MIDI out, so you can connect it to the MIDI in of the Volca.
