Thanks for inviting us along for the first cruise of the new year. I'm glad to see that you don't put the truck in hibernation for the winter like some others do. I think that with using a little discretion you can get the truck out for some exercise now & then -- free range truck. Regarding your dilemma, I want to say put the money on the truck but I'm thinking you might have more good times putting it in the vette. I'm not too keen on LS swaps; lean more towards small block Chevy but it's your personal preference that matters. Take care; keep the dirty side down & the shiny side up.

Thanks for the enjoyable ride along! Always fun to be sitting beside you in the old 49! I could be a bit bias but if I get a vote on where to see improvements made LOL.. definitely the 49! Sure wish I could cruise with you. My 49 never over heats, keeps me cozy, runs great. We hardly get cold in the 20’s where I’m located in Oregon.

@@Volfandt 95 Riviera left with a new water pump and coolant pipes(broken plastic pipes). The Miata left with new power windows, The Tundra left with a new rebuilt rear axle. My truck, Ralph (81 c10) is being tuned for being left outside and a daily driver for winter here in Colorado. 2WD and Yokohama tires😀

Great ride Dave, the old Chevy is sounding really great!! You make that drive look so effortless my 55 ford drives like a morning at the gym, ha ha I did try that corn head grease in the steering gear box that you used but it’s still really stiff we’ll keep your fingers crossed that you can keep buying gasoline. Hey Judd, the Ole Chevy can give me a workout if I try to turn without moving, LOL... I've noticed recently that the cornhead grease is seeping out the steering gear box. Guess I'll have to consider rebushing it one of these days, hopefully gas will still be available, LOL. Have a good 'un.

how does your transmission shift so smoothly? last time i drove mine it didnt shift as well as yours

It's always shifted smoothly. The key is to make sure the 1st/reverse & 2nd/3rd linkage levers at the shift box on the steering column are lined up with each other as near as perfect as possible when in neutral. It makes a world of difference.

What's the cruising driving speed and rpm you usually drive it?

2K-2.6k rpm, 40 - 50 mph. I usually avg 15 mpg at the lower speeds.
