1949 Chevy Truck, Door hinge repair, Volume 94

In this episode I remove the original left (drivers) side door hinges, repair them with oversize pins, refurbish them and reinstall them.
. I cover door R&R & adjustment as well as repair a couple busted captured nuts in the door.

Ive got a 52 chevy coe and your videos are great for me to learn more. Ive watched the videos on motor uphrades too and it was perfect for all my questions! Nice dave… What makes your truck nice is the constant work done to not only keep your old truck running, but, going after the details, and to keep going. You show this job in detail that most mechanics do as high speed video. Seeing the details of drilling the hinges and reassembly makes all the difference. Probably will inspire people to go fix their door hinges because the’ve seen it done. Nice job. I’m now depending on my 42 year old chevy truck for my daily driver, and building a new motor for it. So in addition to customer vehicles I’m busy and won’t get to door hinges for a while.. No complaints here either. Have a good one. Nice to see you working again!

Whoa, that was a lot of work Dave.. I think I would put just a tad of grease on that Stryker plate... The next guy will appreciate you putting the white grease on those hinges..lol.. Hey Dave this was a very helpful video. I own a’46 Chevy and the door hinges are outside. Dave you must have a very patient wife. I know you stay busy with chores but you find time to do what you enjoy. I enjoy working on my ‘46 but don’t get to do it often. We help our daughter babysit and it’s a little tough to get “me time”.

I'm still working on assembly of my 55 first series - I just brought new door hinges for both sides since I only had the drivers original side." Drivers side did the same thing as yours - up and down Amazes me why the drivers side cost less than the passenger side????
