Houston native here. Trav is more than an artist here. He’s a movement, a generation. I remember in high school (our hs was rivals with his {clements v Elkins} ) he would come to homecoming games and show love to the fans. I remember when he was a local name and now he’s worldwide. I remember the day he released rodeo and everyone went nuts at our school wouldn’t stop playing every song. Nostalgia is one hell of a drug.

When I was in 10th grade my friends and I got into a HEATED argument about Travis. That was 3 years ago around birds era. I told them Travis is a better artist than Chance, and their whole thing was that he doesn’t have a Grammy. I frickin love this album. The variety of sounds, the psychadelic vibes, the amusement park aesthetic, the hype leading up to it, etc. Now I hear this album in my head whenever I go to an amusement park. That aesthetic is just one of my favorite things ever. Especially when you have the imagery of rollercoasters & carousels mixed with skeletons, space, etc. Whenever I hear those opening notes of Stargazing (which has a sound like nothing I’ve heard before), I can picture myself driving to Cedar Point’s entrance, seeing the rides looming in the distance getting ever so closer, then after I park, walking into the entrance gates and seeing rollercoasters tower over me

This is Travis Best album! Every song is different.. hardly no skips no fillers.. very mainstream but at the same time his signature sound is there. This album is a new beginning of his new sound and the end of his signature dark days before rodeo style sound he used from 2014 up til birds in the trap sing McKnight “ in 2016/2017. This album also introduces a new sonic sound and don toliver who I believe heavily inspired the sound of Astroworld.

I watched an entire doc from the company man KZbin channel about 6 flags and how it sold it’s property to several different owners, and how much debt it accumulated over the years. How it was just a business at the end of the day, yet had such an impact on one the biggest artists in music, who’s connected to the biggest family in pop culture. I’m sure they would’ve had no idea that a real estate property in their eyes would literally impact culture.
