Volkswagen Beetle Steering Rack Removal

In this video
Louis our Volkswagen Beetle broke down during the week as our co-Host Emma was on her way home from work
Me and Dad headed out in trusty Harlequin to see if we could Rescue her and get her and the car home
But it was not to be…….
Power steering fluid was coming out quicker than we could put it in and we did have any way of stopping it….
So unfortunately Louis had to low loaded and brought home by the AA…
This happened at 7pm (the brake down) Emma and dad (who stayed with her) didn’t get picked up along the with car by the AA until nearly Midnight 12:00am
Fast forward to now…. As you will see dad had determined that the steering rack had given up the ghost so fluid was getting past all the seals and leaking all over the floor…… grrrrreat!!
So it’s become my turn to remove the steering rack so come along with me as embark on this first time adventure
I’ve never removed a steering rack from a modern…ish car before
Loads of old school but that wasn’t going to help here….
Anyway stick with me and hopefully we can both learn something new and know how to do it for the future
