This video was a lifesaver. managed to do the job today, andi guess everything went fine. It 31°C outside, so the oil reached 100°C, but before the replacement it never warmed up at all. Is this all normal? Thanx!

I love German cars especially diesels but they did everyone dirty with this bullshit. Need to do mine soon and I'm going to curse the ghost of Ferdinand Porsche the whole time

I have to do this for the wife's Tiguan and my Amarok. It's going to be a long day.

God bless, this video makes it look so easy. This is one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever done on a car. Everything is so damned tight. German engineering…

Try replacing a DPF on a gen 7 golf TDI, without ramps. I'd do this 10 times rather than do that again!

@@dopiaza2006 yeah, no. I pulled the DSG on a Jetta. That was enough. I don’t even have the car anymore. I’ll honestly never own another German.
@dopiaza20064 ай бұрын
@@jpm2655 Yeah DSG is fun. Slightly easier as you don't have a clutch to mess about with but it;s bigger and almost twice the weight of the manual. Not pleasant.

Great video, but that music is dreadful. Whoever decided that was a good idea needs firing.

there is something seriously wrong with whoever chose the music for these videos

Yeah, the 'music' is rather annoying and adds nothing

sorry i cant watch this anymore the music is unbearable

ALWAYS if you're doing this job either buy a genuine thermostat or a MEYLE - they are the original manufacturer. You don't want to do this job twice because of a cheap part. FEBI probably ok too.

Brilliant video Just one important question Is it changing thermostat fixed the temperature issues like you said in the beginning of the video? Because I got the same problem on my VW CC 2.0 TDI 2012 My car it's staying between 70-90C Up in down all the time Thanks for your help

The temp on this Golf finally reached operating temp and stayed there after this repair!

What is that tool bit you are using? Is it a triple square with a hex on the other end? ** I didn't need a special tool, got a regular socket and universal joint in ok.

Which part?!
@TheDarvec18 ай бұрын
@@fcpeuro-media I meant for doing the lower stat. screw. Great video, it really helped my son an I to get it done. However it seems to be the secondary thermostat going to the trans. that is stuck open slightly.
@dopiaza20067 ай бұрын
You can get triplesquare stubby sets that have 10mm hex on the other end.All you need then is 10mm spanner to undo it. A ratchet spanner is better!
