Discovered your channel this afternoon, ended up watching a few of your videos and then subscribing, I just finished this diy short shift 11pm at night, all thanks to you! When I put it in gear the first time my reaction was "is that in 1st? No way? That short of a throw? Holy shit!" it truly makes a huge difference! Keep up the great work my guy 👍🏻

Great video 👌 definitely seems shorter then the stock throw . Think i will do this mod on my citi in the future 👍thanks
@Lucky13Customs5 жыл бұрын
It really makes a HUGE difference. I do suggest getting a linkage bush kit from midas or another spare shop to change while you are at it. I'll make a video fitting one on my car so that you know where they all go. I'd say it reduces the throw by about 50% atleast as well as the side to side movement. Best part is that if it isn't for you, all you need to do is put the rod back into the original hole.

@Lucky13Customs4 жыл бұрын
Hey man! Not too sure what plugs you are referring to , if its the actual plugs on the harness for the motor then I just suggest laying the loom over the motor and start plugging in plugs that match, it will eventually show you exactly where everything goes.

Hey Ross, I have done similar work 5 years ago but never fitted the modified part, One question to you, you made the part straight, the original One is bended, did you experience any issues because of that? Most brands that make similar parts keep the original angles.

Hi. i want to replace all the gear selector bushes and have never did it before. do you have a video of that by any chance. Reason for replacing them is that after they replaced the clutch the first is were revers is an 2nd also have to push down to get it.
@Lucky13Customs4 жыл бұрын
Hey unfortunately I dont have a video on changing the bushes, ill keep that in mind for future videos. It sounds like the pinch bolt under the car on the main shaft running from your shift lever to the gearbox needs to be rotated a few teeth
@mvelongubane5154 жыл бұрын
Cool video man, hey can you please help my golf 1 Reverse and first gear are very close to each other there is no barrier between them, what could be the cause?
@Lucky13Customs4 жыл бұрын
Hey man, thanks for the support! You will probably need to adjust the splined shaft that runs under your car from your gear shift to the linkages on the gearbox. Makes small adjustments at a time and you will get it perfect within like 15 minutes. Also would be st to get a replacement Bush kit at the same time
@mvelongubane5154 жыл бұрын
@@Lucky13Customs thank you so much man I'll try that
@Lucky13Customs4 жыл бұрын
@@mvelongubane515 only a pleasure! You can get the bush kit at most spare shops or goldwagen. There is also a linkage replacement which they call the "lollipop" that you can replace but that is mainly to reduce any play which may be there
@tariqmall28074 жыл бұрын
Hey bud, I would like to do this mod as well but I wanted to ask you if drilling a 12mm hole worked well for you? As you mentioned, you hope that it wasn't going to be too tight. Also does one have to straighten out the metal piece that the bushing goes onto? Would it not be okay to leave the shape as is?
@Lucky13Customs4 жыл бұрын
Hey man, 12mm worked perfect 👌 you can drill the hole lower without bending it straight, the lower you go with the hole the shorter the throw is going to be which is why I straighten it out. You can even drill 2 holes if straightening it out which will give you three adjustable options which you can change to suit how you want it.
@tariqmall28074 жыл бұрын
@@Lucky13Customs Awesome stuff! It's probably better to do it the way you did and straighten it out in order to drill 2 holes just in case the adjustment is needed. Thanks a lot man! I'll try to get it done in this week when I have some time. 🙏🏼

After the mod the car keeps stalling, can't climb hill or even speed hump - i smell clutch, take off from gear 1 is slow it just crawls to speed, but reverse is faster. I tried adjusting clutch but that didn't work. What did i do wrong?

Hey dude, try adjusting the splined shaft with the pinch clamp. It is the shaft that runs from your shift tower to the linkages. Make small adjustments until you come right. Try cleaning it off and mark where it current is so that you have a reference point
