Headliner sag is because someone was smoking in the car and the chemicals in the smoke broke down the glue holding the liner up. This was really common in older cars that still came with ashtrays at a time when many people smoked.

My Mk6 Jetta Sportwagen is getting a DPF/EGR delete to make it more reliable mainly because the DPF died AGAIN for the 2nd time in 70k miles. I got the car with 39k on the clock and I am now at 109k. The extended warranty is also crap because it was from when the car was first sold, not after the whole dieselgate event. Because of this, mine ended last year even though I got the car in 2019. I also had an extended warranty for the exhaust system and for some reason that ended 6 months before the dieselgate one.

I can’t for the life of me understand why VW even messed with the TDI software in the first place! Even now, after my TDI has been “fixed,” the gas mileage is still great! On average, I get around 36 to40mpg. If I drive on the highway, it’s even higher! I’m probably missing something, but I don’t understand why other companies don’t put more diesel engines in their cars.

Looking at a 2013 Jetta with 56k miles, is there anything I should look out for with a low mileage car? From what I understand, WV bought back thousands of em and updated them and resold em.
@eurodriven2507Ай бұрын
On a car that low or mileage, ensure it hasn't been sitting too long. It seems the cars that sat too long are more prone to bushings drying out and failing as well as brake calipers sticking. But if it was simply driven here and there, you're good to go.

What company do you recommend for the delete tune?
@eurodriven250710 ай бұрын
From what I've seen, MrTuning and Malone are the only real options. MrTuning can set readiness if you need that in your area. Malone has been tried and trusted for a long time. They both have a mutual respect for each other. As far as hardware goes, I couldn't tell you which kits are better than others or which ones should be avoided. The "MK6 TDI owners" and "VW TDI Owners" groups on Facebook have a lot of discussions on these topics.

PowerService has been proven to do virtually nothing for lubrication. Buy premium diesel, which already has all the additives, and not futz with additives. 1-2% Biodiesel will be all you need to get lubricity into euro specs. Use Mobil1 ESP 0w-30 for oil if doing your own changes. VW switched to this a couple years as their VW branded oil. 5qt jug at Wallyworld is under $30.

I seen a 2012 volks tdi golf, i want a car i can modify and use as a daily, ive had a car before but never driven manual. Would i have issues with the clutch system since I'll be learning manual in this car? I dont wanna worry about spending lots of money on a clutch or whatever i tear from learning. I knew a freind that had a honda and needed a new clutch on it because he was relatively new to manuals.
@eurodriven250711 ай бұрын
VW manuals are pretty bulletproof. I learned on an old school Passat, clutch still held great after I was done learning, through some very hard driving, and teaching others. They're very easy to learn on and built to take abuse as long as it isn't a bunch of launches and/or flooring it past 4th gear under 2k RPM.
@eurodriven250711 ай бұрын
To add onto that, I still wasn't proficient driving stick when I bought my TDI Golf and it has zero issues. And Honda transmissions aren't super strong so it makes sense someone could wear one out while learning.

The "Jetta Sportwagon" is a Golf wagon, mine is a 2dr hatch though. Look at the front end of a Mk6 Jetta, than a Mk6 Golf, then a "Jetta" wagon, it's clearly a Golf front end and uses Golf parts throughout.
