The Golf Ecomatic is one of the most tangible symbols of Volkswagens commitment to long term resource conservation, and reduction of pollution levels.
its the first production car in the world to feature an engine whcih swithches off automatically when its not needed; both when the car is stationary and when the driver lifts off the accelarator.
In our congest cities the engine can be switched off got up to 60% of the time reducing fuel costs by over 20%. Tests revealed that the system reduces gas emissions by 22-36% and significantly cuts noise pollution.
All this from a car that still offers all the qualities you would expect from a Golf.
Indeed a new concept in motoring from Volkswagen.
