I live in Minnesota, lotta rust! You don’t see these on the road anymore. I visit my sister in Tucson az.Their all over the place. So, I don’t have a clue what their worth here.

@@michaelnelson9140 you are correct. Az is a crazy market. That dry area over there has alot of old cars still used as daily drivers. I had a air force member looking for cars on his spare time. The rate of car sales of VWs are low or twice as much as locally here in Tampa. Great comment. It sucks the salt destroys cars up north. Stay safe , stay warm.

Prices in 2020-2021 have been really high in Florida for most classic VWs. Those rear quarter roof vents first appeared in 1971 and sadly, they allow moisture to get into the foam sound deadening which causes the rust. I’d say 99% of the 71-77 Beetles here in Florida have rust back there. That’s why I prefer Beetles up to 1970.

I'm in Ohio. These cars are not easy to find at all. The only thing holding it back is its a super beetle. A regular would get 2500 cash real fast with more rust than this one. Hope this answers your question asked. Take care. I just joined the Facebook page.

I’m from Belgium and a lot off guy’s would turn there back on that car for the work only. But in America? Prices are way up and like you said, there is always a buyer for these cars. Be safe.

No.1, its not a really desirable "vintage" VW at 1972. No.2 its pretty RUFF !! :) I would NOT give more then $1200 for it.

Even in New England that about a $1200 at most. The rust in the C pillar is huge $ if you can't diy... at least around here. Can't wait for more on the AutoStick!!!

Sadly, the sale price is up to the buyer more so than the seller. If someone really wanted your 72, you’d be able to get more since the demand is there. In all reality, yours imo is worth about $800.

Thats what I would pay. You can't buy them locally here for that. If I were to post this video and a 800 sell price, I would get messages offering more. If I were to paint it, then it would be up in the 3- 3500 range. There are no current non painted cars for sale locally on marketplace. Thanks for commenting

This car would be close to your section 8 beetle. This was a facebook post on prices in the area for classic beetles for sale. They have shot up in price. One that runs like the black one is 2500. If they have any kind of paint job they jump to over 4k. Thanks for commenting Pete.

Out here in west Texas that car would be listed for $4,500-$5,000. Would I pay that? No way! Knowing what would be needed to be done to that car I would offer $1500 but then I would probably chop it more and turn it into a baja.

I agree, 1500 tops. I would rather use a standard beetle over the super beetle. The front strut suspension wouldn't be the best choice for a baja. I've bought a few beetle and chopped them up for Baja as well. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Stay safe.

Unfortunately I don't know when the next video will be. I have alot going on with several family members at the same time. I'm not complaining on my side. Someone always has it worse than I do. I wish I could give you a answer. My VW days may be coming to an end soon. I just can't find any time. Thank you for your support. I really appreciate you reaching out, but I have to be honest to everyone. I hope things calm back down soon. I have a garage full.of parts ready to go. It looks like you have a good strong 1600 engine. It turns out my 71 SB has a 1200 engine. It runs, but I’m sure it devalues the car. Trying to find the right engine is about impossible. Not going with a brand new, rebuilt engine. The cars not worth it. My 71 looks worse than yours, but not by a lot. I can do all the bodywork myself. But I watched your video to get an idea what mine could be worth. If I completely restored the car, I would spend 10,000$ and I know it’s worth then would be about 5000$ so that’s not the route I’m going. I want to get mine completely running and safe. Maybe a quick cheap paint job? Put some cool looking wheels on it, and modify the interior cheaply. Maybe some kid will see it, and have to have it! So, bottom line, fix it up as cheap as possible, and sell it for more than I put into it. Gotta admit, these bugs are addicting to work on. Nice video!

I have a 72 Super in much better shape. Have been told anywhere from $500 (west TN) to $8000 (SC and CA). Rust free, 1600dp, has not been driven/started for 15 years. Drug it out of the barn to let the rain give it a good rinse off. The only ones worth real money are splits and ovals. And even then, $50k and up is so far beyond ridiculous…

I agree. I've been dealing with VWs for about 30 years. I can't justify what Facebook marketplace is posting on these cars. I would feel ashamed to post my car for 4k. I'm in Tampa, FL. There are cars a lot worse shape than mine getting 3500 to 4000. Then they are only listed for a day or so. Some a few hours. Thanks for commenting. Are you going to post videos on your beetle?
