It's also important to know that Reo is massively misunderstanding Nagi in this entire arc. Nagi, in reality, is doing it for himself and for Reo. While Reo feels like he's being betrayed.

yes, that and the consept of the monster. It's not the Isagi's monster that we see at 26:10 but were the monster of Bachira was, so Bachira see that someone that was exactly like the monster. I am not good at explening, sorry.

26:20 so the concept of the monster is that Meguru always played alone because he was just so much better and wanted so much more than anyone around him that he envisioned this monster in place of real people. When he played with others they always were multiple steps behind than what he wanted them to be. The monster was always playing alone with him as it was the only thing that kept up with the vision of Megurus plays and connections. (not hard when its coming from your own mind lol) until finally in Blue Lock he finds someone actually standing in the place of the monster. So no its not Asigis monster, its still Megurus just that finally Meguru found someone that was keeping up with his vision. someone that had this same competitiveness and hunger than him.

When someone has a darker blue aura, it means their ego is not fully developed yet. As they grow and develop their ego, the aura will change to reflect their true color, like Bachira's did at 28:37.

Hey coach. I don't think anybody other than Bachira sees people as having monsters, they just all have their egos. What you saw wasn't Isagi having his own monster, it was that Bachira had a vision of what a good player would do and that was his imaginary friend/monster. Since he had noone good at soccer around him he played with his monster. But in that moment, Isagi's movements overlapped with Bachira's vision so he basically found his monster in real life. When Bachira said he thinks Isagi has a monster inside him just like himself he was just saying that he felt like Isagi's ego and vision were very similar to himself. When you see images of other people having what seems like monsters, its just their egos and the vision they have in their head of the kind of soccer they wanna play. Everyone else sees it that way and don't relate to it as a monster so they think Bachira has a screw loose kinda for talking about monsters, but Bachira sees it as his monster because of all he went through and the upbringing he had with his artist mom. I think it's the perspective that matters, but using monster to describe what vision the strikers have isn't wrong or bad imo, even when talking from someone other than Bachira's perspective. I really liked what Bachira's mom said about the voice in your heart and your passion being like a monster inside you xD I kinda wanna get the monster painting she drew tattooed too xD

Bachira is one of my favorite characters because his experience of being the "weird kid" just really resonates with me. When you're so intense about your hobbies and interests that it drives other kids away, and you get bullied because you don't get others and others don't get you. And then, when you do find the people who match your intensity, it can be even more heartbreaking if that friendship breaks, or they leave you behind because they're on another level you can't reach. I think a lot of neurodivergent people resonate with Bachira for that reason, even if it the intention he was written with.

Hi coach, in the manga when Reo was kinda practicing with Nagi, they added more detail where Nagi was watching a player called Dennis Bergkamp. He was an insane player with a great first touch, and is who Nagi is based on. It would be great if you can check him out someday, alongside Dimitar Berbatov, who has a great first touch as well and is called lazy, like Nagi, because he doesn't move much but is very efficient

I do think Bachira is detecting other egos, but how he sees that is those players are accepted or can keep up with the monster in his head, which nobody else sees it as, as Rin primarily shows us by shutting the idea down as childish

Props to nailing why Bachira plays the way he does! A new episode of blue lock dropped today and for once I picked up an animation error that you mentioned a while back with the ball being thrown back into play and the size of the ball being too big and hands not being at the right angle (that actually improved imo). Came here for the fun but to actually take something away from it is exciting, thanks coach!

Coach at 6:36 that you talked about Nagi having a monster, that's not it, along the series uou will see all that aura around characters, those are the "personification" of ego from them, just Bachira has this called monster in which he can see the best play possible at that time for him to do

bachira's monster in a weird way is his own version of special awareness. the monster he sees playing on the fiel is always executing the most optimal play. if the monster was a real player in a position on the field he would be where he should be at that exact time. its why bachira passes to where he does. the players on his own team weren't keeping up with him and thats why they never got his passes. its why the players on the TV played like the monster. because they're pro players. until he found isagi and rin who play like the monster. people who can keep up with him and be where they should be like the monster does. even now when he plays soccer. he passes the ball to where the monster is. and he does so with glee now cuz when he does he sees that rin and isagi are where the monster is where before it was only him and the monster and he is no longer playing alone

thats exactly the thing that either gets ignored or people don't realize. Bachira knows what the best move is by intuition (the monster shows him) but without anyone else being on that level everyone things he's kinda stupid or bad because he does all the "misplays"

Yeah, I think the author might do this because he (or she, I don't know) wants to mention real soccer players but not use them in major roles in the story because they don't want to risk depicting an actual person in an unfavorable light.

5:35 I do want to point out, you don't get a choice. When someone selects you after winning, you HAVE to move on with them. That's how the system works. Chigiri can't decline and go back to Kunigami and Reo.

Hey coach, not to try and taint your opinion, but there has been a lot of discussion about season 2's animation quality (or just lack of animation at all). I'm looking forward to your opinion on it as an art teacher/animator because sometimes I can't tell if people jump on the bandwagon of disliking something or if it objectively cheap/bad.

I feel like if your gonna watch season 2, you just gotta accept the bad animation and watch for story. True people have their own opinions on it, but for me I dont actually mind it too much tbh. (mightve just accepted it)

I’m still liking season two. Sure it’s a bit more visual novely now but I think the art looks even more better than the previous season plus rewatching season one with coach made me realize there’s not much different between season one and two but that’s just my opinion.

Yes cuz due to directors/head people rushed by giving very bad, fast deadlines for animating it with low salary but still story, art style and background music are so peak It's like frame issues only

The stills are good but there's little movement (animation) and what we do get is usually poor and/or papered over by sfx

the Dynamic between Reo and Nagi is so good, Nagi wanted to split off to play with Isagi to grow for him and Reos dream. Reo thinks Nagi betrayed him and doesn't want him anymore, not realising that his fear of losing Nagi is what is holding him back, if he was playing to improve himself to get Nagi back instead of crying over something he didn't even lose in the first place, his potential could skyrocket him also Noel Noa is a made up character for Blue Lock (just like other upcoming characters) not a Real Player, probably due to obvious reasons as he plays a bigger role later on in the Series.

consider reacting to ao ashi after blue lock, it has probably the best coach in all sports manga ive ever read. even in haikyuu which i loved so much coach characters doesnt show much influence in the series its more about the players, in ao ashi theres a lot more about player development, a more realistic approach to football which aims for older audience like us. The manga is just really beautiful, the anime adaptation is pretty good as well its not as grand as haikyuu s3 or the movie but its pretty consistent throughout the series.

If Chigiri refused to pick, he would have quit Blue Lock, either Reo or Kunigami would be picked (he wouldn't know) and the other would be alone therefore eliminated too. This way at least both Reo and Kunigami have another chance.
