The only thing that was possibly added was the radio was changed to AM/FM. The fender tag says it originally was a standard R11 Musicmaster AM radio.

Gentlemen, maybe it's just me. But a 71 Roadrunner...THIS Roadrunner....B5 Blue, Air Grabber, Pistol Grip 4 speed car in THIS condition....this is truly a HOLY GRAIL car, hands down!! I know, it's not a Hemi, or the last Hemi RR to ever roll off the line. But at 80K, it's new owner should be a lucky and happy person to have it. Thanks for posting Jay, this brought a tear to my eye and a huge smile on my face, all at the same time!

Actually on the Road Runner, the correct terminology is 383 Road Runner. Also, 383 cars did not come with an H-pipe in the exhaust. That was added.
@bigredc2226 ай бұрын
You probably know H pipe ads low end torque, so that's a good thing, as long as your not getting it judged at a car show. If that's the case it doesn't have the resonators or the rocket chrome tips.

Different but as beautiful as the 1970 Road Runner model. I love this model and it's as beautiful as a 1971 chevelle SS and if I had to choose I think I would choose this model with the 440 6 pack even if I like the 383 too!

Brings back memories. Bought mine in 71 in B7 blue, automatic with bucket seats and had the "tuff wheel (smaller steering wheel with large center section which activated the horn). Was way more car then where I was living at the time, onboard a destroyer at Pearl Harbor (fastest speed limit was a couple of miles at 55 on the freeway if you went west of Pearl City). Traded it in in 74 after getting married and having a kid plus by then the gas was going up and on a good day I think I was getting somewhere around 10 miles per gallon. Still wish I had it at times but just can't afford what they are bringing now. Still remember the salesman quoting me a price and then following up with "if you can find it cheaper we'll match the price", knowing that they were the only Plymouth dealer on Oahu so he was feeling smug. He wasn't ready for my reply when I told him that since I was getting ready to deploy one of our stops would be Hong Kong where Chrysler had a rep who would not only sell the car at a cheaper price but he would have to prep it and deliver it to me when it came in. He excused himself and when he came back I basically got the $1200 in options knocked off the price.

If it's an original 71 383 it's 300 HP, the 70 was the last year @ 335 HP, beautiful time capsule.

No, this 71 383 has 335 horsepower. I've had several of these cars.

@@ricktaylor3748 You owning a 71 doesn't make it 335 HP, it dropped in 71 to 300 HP and the 440 dropped from 375 HP to 330 HP, look it up..

@@baird5776mullet Nope, the 71 440 was 375, the Super Comando was rated @ 390 horsepower. The 72 GTX had 285 hp. But was closer to 325 hp. I've had all the above mentioned vehicles. I dot know where you get the 71 Road Runner has 300 hp. My 71Challenger 383 had 335 hp.

Remember, Plymouth didn't use the term Magnum. It was a Super Commando

The moniker "Super Commando" was not used on the 383 engine in Road Runners . . .
@shanewilson9250 Жыл бұрын
@@bman99ss "A special version of the 383 was created for the 1968 Plymouth Road Runner; it had heads, intake, camshaft, and exhaust manifolds from the 440 Super Commando.

@@shanewilson9250 Agreed. Nevertheless, Plymouth did not use the Commando name for the Road Runner engine. It was simply called the "383 Road Runner Engine."

Bubbles on both fenders and trunk per video moderator ….but yet paint is excellent ??? And $80k. And will have to repaint to get bubbles out. Might want to reconsider your appraisal on this one.

You're right. That's a lot of money for a car that you still need to invest a lot in to repaint.
