Had my fair share of 717 flights with AirTran before Southwest bought them and leased them to DL. Always loved sitting right near the Rolls BR715s! It's no JT8D, but I sure do love the '17.

What a sexy plane! Pity they`re vanishing more & more from the industry - I also loved the entire DC-9 family too. But on thing - I remember the approach to Santorini passing a huge rock in dangerous looking distance - This time i did`nt see it..

The 717/dc-9/md-88(believe that's what it's named) are my favorite air craft but to make it easy any plane that has its engines on the tail and only 2 is my favorite :)

Thats strange because I live in Israel, where airlines are more secure than they are in the UK (Terrorism etc.)... And I was allowed to film in any Israeli flight.

The Boeing 717 is really the grandchild of the MD-80/90 series from McDonnell-Douglas and the great-grandchild of the Douglas Corp DC-9 series. Boeing continued production as the 717 with new tech and refinements. It is no longer made but is supported by Boeing.

YYYYYeeeeSssss! Sorry. I just couldn't help myself. What a sound! I love that 717, even though I've never flown inside one. I just wish Boeing made more of these planes. I'll never understand why they didn't. What were they thinking? Also, I absolutely love that sound. You've got quite a wonderful setup. Now if I could just remember who I referred your channel to the other day, I'd be okay. Anyway, I would love it if you came to the U.S.A. one day, and if you do, please look me up. I have a Guide Dog named Zahara, and she's about to retire soon, and I really hope I can get a new one soon, too. I do have to admit that I'm terrified of those little biplanes and prop planes. I've been in a number of very rough flights, and I just prefer jets. You always seem to come out with better and better videos, and I'm so glad you pay so much attention to the sound. Keep it up, and I hope to "see" you here sometime.

I remember the Boeing 707, but then Boeing seemed to have skipped the 717 and just carry on from 727 onwards! Why has Boeing decided to go back about sixty-years and start making the 717; did they forget about this model at the time?

The 009 If Boeing did build 717s sixty-years ago, then it was not a commercial aircraft or it could have been a bad design and Boeing quickly decided to scrap the idea and carry on with the next model (Boeing 727).

The 717 isn't a Boeing product. The 717 came from McDonnell Douglas. Boeing bought McDonnell Douglas in 1997 it used to be called the McDonnell Douglas MD-95 but Boeing changed the name to the 717 after acquiring that company.

Hello, Does someone have expirience with their beggage policy? I heard that they have smaller luggage control box than they advertise - so you have to pay extra for cabin beggage even tho you have ok size luggage.

I also just wanted to tell you how well your English is written. I'm sure you've been working very hard on your speaking. Even though I'm not Greek, I really like the sound of this language, but I'm afraid I'm better at Liturgical Greek than I am at Modern Greek. I converted to the Holy Orthodox Faith on April 5, 1987 after exactly two arduous years of intensive self examination and studying, and my life has been getting better and better, little by l I should say my life in Christ, because He's the reason I'm alive today. I got a little help from Josh Groban over 11 years ago, and I really love this life more and more, even though I've been living through much pain and struggle. Transportation here in Atlanta, Georgia is horrible, so I can't say I'm nearly as independent as I'd like to be, and it's hard to get help with making it better. It's sad, because people with disabilities here in Atlanta are really suffering, and nobody wants to improve on the situation. This is why we have one of the highest unemployment rates for the blind in the U.S. I've been trying so hard to change this since 1989, and I hate to say it, but nothing has improved, and yet, we have almost 7 million people in this city. We used to have a slogan:"Atlanta; a city to busy to hate." Now, it's "Atlanta; a city too busy to care." If you do find me, I go to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Atlanta during the work week, and St. John the Wonderworker in downtown Atlanta across from Grant Park. People are trying to be helpful, but most of the time, you really can't get much anymore, or what help you do get is lip service. It's a shame.On a much more positive note, we do have the Greek Festivals at different times every year, depending on which church you go to. There's the Cathedral's Festival in late September or the first weekend in October. Then, the Marietta, Georgia, and the third in Cumming, Ga. Georgia Festival around Memorial Day in late May. Or is it Marietta in May? I can't remember. Please forgive me. So, greetings from Atlanta, Georgia, where it got up to around 91 or 92 degrees, Farrenheight with a heat index of around 101! Y'all are lucky over there in Cypress and Greece!
