I would not be allowed to have that girl on my workshop wall! I really like this 242 ( we didn’t really see the 2-door in UK) and im glad to be seeing it again
@SeasideGarage4 жыл бұрын
Its pretty special in 2-doors config... and a bit weird for such a huuuuge car.. Hehe "shes" a poster from the 70´s for sparkplugs!

Would you consider doing a video on your tools, or tools you would recommend for the the home garage..I like your car lift 😋... I'm hoping to set up a little workshop next year, would be great if see what sort of tools I should be thinking about getting....Thank you.

Very nice vids! Whats the supplier of calipers and what is the cost? Have you considered going for the cooled front brakes? thanks
@SeasideGarage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Matas About 60 euros a piece... From Autodoc. :) This is a standard 2,1 so the normal discs is more then enough for it in my opinion. :)

What kind of grease are you using there? Interesting can with the brush on the end of it!
@SeasideGarage4 жыл бұрын
Its a ceramic paste... the brush is really useful! Its one of my favorite "tools"!.... Not when it falls on the ground and picks up metal shavings and dust though!

@@SeasideGarage nice, I used copper grease before but I'll look out for this, thanks man!

I'll say it again, rad car, rad video! Please let us know what you would recommend for attempting this process at home and some information on your lift! We are all looking forward to watching this tank roll down the road!
@SeasideGarage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Colin! A lift makes this job much nicer... Laying on the ground is not fun in the long run... Its pretty basic stuff, but a brake flaring kit and good quality tools are a good thing... :) I cant wait to make a video with the car on the road!

I really enjoy this series and I looooove this green volvo. Maybe we can do some deal...I'll find you another Panda 4x4 (or another small Italian car) and you will find me a volvo like this :-P ;-)

Yes indeed mate...also mercedes 123 chassis...used ate calipers, but also bendix...what also helped me in past is to measure the old pads, discs, clutches etc...cause the computerprograms on the million caritems are often not knowlidgable enough to know what parts were used ...often the brand was used that they had in stock at that moment 30 years ago... i hear wrong parts being sold all the time...i think its inherent on the digitalisation and fast new way of delivery on distant huge depots, being sent all over the world...in the old days i guess mechanic parts went slower, and were taken out first, to bring them yself to exchange for the right part, being checked over the counter...somehow....who can we blame? But it is our youtube connection that help is a lot to know that untill 85 they changed from ate to the other brand.... or vice versa? Im learning from you guys...therefor big thanks! bob Belgium...

Question I know this was years ago, but what brand are the calipers? I'm having a hard time getting pads that'll actually fit within the calipers. Everything I've ordered so far seems to be too bigger, but those calipers seem bigger, though. Is there any chance you remember?
@SeasideGarage5 ай бұрын
Sorry cant remember

Very interesting videos and excellent explanations. I have avoided watching any videos re British cars ,as I have driven many and feel sad that the British automotive industry has been near wiped out. However,are you aware that the British pronounce ALUMINIUM as Aluminium,as do the Danish,Germans and most of the rest of the world.? "Aluminum" is actually a prestage in the process of making Aluminium . Just a technical point.
@spaghettimonster14984 жыл бұрын
think the problem is girling or ate calipers.
@SeasideGarage4 жыл бұрын
YES! I learned about that difference the hard way... wrong hoses, wrong pads and wrong pad retainers! ;)
