My dad had a 1984 760 GLE turbo diesel, manual, silver, with black leather interior, and factory added intercooler (I suppose I should say aftercooler, having watched your explanation). I loved how solidly that car was made. It was the only one in California built to that spec. I wish my sister hadn’t totaled it. I so much want that same spec in a wagon like what you are building. Thanks for triggering my fond memories of that car. Btw: I find it amusing that you work barefoot. At least your in a shop. I’m rebuilding a 911 engine in my apartment living room. I doubt I’m the only one to do such a thing. Thanks for the great video.

There's one Aussie here watching your videos..... Namely because I'm interested in the D24t. I have a 718 (TD) Pinzgauer which uses the last version of the D24tic motor. I rebuilt mine when I did the vehicle (a 10 year resto) but I recently brought another motor (out of a UK imported Volvo 740) that I am rebuilding as a spare. This one is going to be a little bit "hotter" than the original so I'm sucking up any info I can find. Thanks for the videos. 😅

Entertaining & informative. a lil aggression in this one, but if it's for the sake of comedy - yes, please, more!

Good news, the airbox is the same for a gas car, only the lid is a little different. I also dump the sorry VW excuse for an oil cooler with the thermostatic oil-air cooler from a redblock, more reliable and less ridiculous plumbing. Need the pipe nipple to match. EGR block plate is a great spot to tap for your EGT sensor. PS Bolens FTW!

Hahaha I love the VL comment aha. You need a intercooler that’s 3x times the size to meet the spec of the VLs Keep up the good work with the build. I wish we got the diesel is Australia. And also wish we got quad headlights

Your videos are absolutely great so informative and yet entertaining. You deserve so much more views than you have. I think you would greatly benefit from uploading little snippets of your videos on tiktok or Instagram reels and let the algorithm do the rest of the work. Moments like you "opening" the hood on your own volvo would do great on these platforms.

Thank you! I have been telling myself I need to start doing tiktoks, I know it could do wonders for exposure. I just need to sit down and figure out the format and voiceover.

Will say, that aluminum solder actually works pretty damn good. I recommend a proper torch though, aluminum soaks up a lot of the heat from a map torch

Is your hood aluminum?
@bakedbeansgarage1163 ай бұрын
No, it's steel. I didn't realize aluminum hoods existed until I took apart the parts car.
