Top work guys, nice to see another Volvo being saved. ABS faults are quite common on these cars, and it's usually caused by cracked solder joints in the ABS module. The fix is pretty easy, I'm no expert at soldering and I managed to resolder the joints on the power pins just fine, getting the module open was the hardest part for me. There are plenty of guides online to help out, I found a Dremel was the best method of opening the module itself. Just make sure to reseal the module with some silicone to keep it watertight if you decide to try and fix it yourself. Otherwise, you can send them away to be professionally repaired.

@@MusTRitch No worries, hopefully you can get things sorted. If you do decide to remove the module then make sure to get the car to about 20kmh once its refitted. The car only runs the check for any faults once a certain speed is hit.

ABS module losmaken met Torx E8 dopje, zit vervelend om het hoekje ;) Dan kapje openen tegenover de connectorplug, met bijvoorbeeld een dremeltje. Dan de hars van de printplaat verwijderen, de oude solderingen losmaken want die zijn vaak gebarsten. Let op dat dit vrij harde tin in, dus duurt ff voor hij desoldeert. Zodra je de pinnen schoon hebt opnieuw doorsolderen. Als je alle pinnen hebt gehad, kapje dichtmaken, module terugplaatsen, stukje rijden waar je tenminste 20 a 25 km/u gaat. Dan loopt hij zijn zelftest door. Oja en als je toch onder de auto kan op de brug, check ff rondom of alle ABS ringen nog heel zijn. Kunnen ook zomaar eens doorgeroest zijn.

The air pump is an emissions thing. It lives in the engine bay but is part of a larger system so you'll have to do a bit of troubleshooting I guess :)

Hey, we have not bought new ones yet as they are pretty hard to find over here. We are thinking about buying a standard led strip and somehow install that into the old spoiler brakelight housing.
