I was screaming internally when you guys put the flywheel in the wrong position but no worries, you guys got it fixed :D Nice solution on the flywheel+pressureplate combo being thinner than the original! Mine was to unbolt the clutchfork pivotball inside the gearbox bellhousing and putting approx. 4mm of washers under it. Keep the content coming!

I've seen some of your other videos and just spotted you are working on a 940. I've just bought the same flywheels and clutch you have and have been waiting for a few other parts before fitting it. One thing I did spot was that you mounted the gearlever mount inside the car and not in the tunnel. Not seen that done before on a Volvo only on old Minis !
@usherengineering1794 жыл бұрын
Hi yes i think we will have to change that, we originally mounted it underneath but was told we had mounted it wrong....but i think the correct place was how we had it.....although it do select the gears fine

The m90 gearbox got a weak 3rd. You should get a hold of a BMW diesel gearbox that has welded a volvo clutchhousing to it. Cool project tho (y)

Not much point tuning it then as cheapest upgrade is the bigger version, but maybe there wherent sold many due to tax reason? Like in Italy, where they had a 2-litre 16 valve that never was available im Sweden. We had 740's with 2,3-litre 16-valve, an engine never fitted here in the 940 series.

Except for the honest mistake with the CP sensor you have to admit that the swap went easy . I personally would have left the driveshaft in one piece but that´s personal preference .

@thatdudeinorange22974 жыл бұрын
What diff ratio does an automatic run? Cheapest way to get that heavy car to accelerate better is lowest possible ratio from the scrapyard, its not like you need 130+mph topspeed for what you're planning. Also, if you weld the diff then buy as many driveshafts you can get your hands on as you'll need them! Or buy a Torsen diff, may cost a bit but saves a lot of grief and swearing in the long run. M90 is the strongest gearbox, of the ones fitted in those 940's, sadly that doesnt say much.. Stock up on those to.. there is some trick to make those M90's last a little longer by welding syncros on second or third gear, will get back on that!
