Where did he even think he was going??? Man was headed underground

This guy had to be proving a point to whoever told him to go through that. The excavator in the background was stuck too

Love how most comments blame the driver. Having done the job myself as an ADT and excavator operator, some foremen expect plant to perform miracles no matter what the condition, and they'll throw several fxxks at you if you don't do it. The foremen can also get his ar$e chewed if the job stops as the plant hire clock still keeps on ticking and the machines have to be paid for. Also many companies or contractors use agency drivers who are taken on as self employed by the agency. So if you don't work or get rained off or kicked off site, you don't get paid, so everyone is keen to push on.

Nah, your wrong. I've got 30 years experience operating all this equipment and many more in a surface coal mining and I can absolutely tell you that driving a truck takes the least skill. In fact, in most mining operations driving the truck is where they start out training the new hands. Then, if they good enough they'll eventually progress to dozers, motor graders, trackhoes etc. But, even though everyone feels some pressure every now and then to make an impression on management or coworkers, they should have enough sense not to go into conditions like this in a truck. Judging from this video it's apparent that the ground didn't just break off under him all of a sudden. This guy slowly but surely just went from bad to worse. Bottom line...some people just don't need to be operating heavy equipment.

@1texasminer You are wrong, even the guy that posted the video says I'm right in his comments. I have twenty five plus years experience, ADTs, excavators, crusher in the UK. As for skill and experience, that all depends. Try driving an ADT on a UK construction site, it's a different world to some opencast mine. I've had to reverse through narrow gaps, do blind turns on jobs in London where basements are being dug out. Had jibs where we drive on the top of coffr dams, then have to manoeuvre on to a barge to tip. Anyone that puts down the operator of different equipment usually has some puffed up ego and thinks they have superior skills.

@@neilcrawford8303 I don't think that I'm a better person, but I do have better operating skills than the average haul truck operator.. That's precisely why I was promoted and was able to move on to other equipment. In any loading operations the only place they start a green hat (rookie) with zero heavy equipment background is going to be task training on the trucks. Management would be foolish to bypass this more basic piece of equipment in the training process and move someone directly into running a loader or a dozer.... Especially in a production situation. For example, if you're operating (depending on haul distance and haulroad conditions) is running one piece of loading equipment to five pieces of haulage equipment, you can damn sure afford to lose a hauler out of the equation before you could the loader. That just makes common sense. My previous response was just to say that this truck operator had no business operating in that mud hole. If that isn't immaculately obvious to you then you, no matter how much experience you may have in London, I can promise you that you would last about 10 minutes in the conditions of East Texas soil before you were the one who's truck was the was buried and was having to be rescued.
