Hi Thom et all, leasing a C40 Recharge Single delivered in Nov 2022 in the UK. Not many miles driven, but happy with the car so far. No vibrations at speed in the motorway (+70 mph) so fingers crossed will remain like that. Most say it is very responsive and has quick acceleration when required. LTE Connection (I think is via Vodafone in the UK) depends on the signal coverage (some areas are patchy). Last weekend had to reboot for first time the central screen (pressing button for +20 seconds) as Google Maps was stuck. I will keep an eye on the moisture on the tail lights as I have not noticed it. Happy driving guys.

I took delivery of my 2023 C40 (assembled in Ghent, Belgium) in early January of this year. It's early days but so far I've had no vibration in the steering at any speed and the internet connection has been reliable.

Besides vibration at high speed, there's also a lot of cases of knocking noise when accelerating hard, I hope it's not the drive shafts.

As mentioned newer Volvos has issues with wheel vibrations. Had it on my V60 and the reason is that the wheels do not center on the hub. The diameter on the center bore in the wheel is slightly bigger than the hub which leads to that the wheels is running out of spec. All vibrations on my V60 was fixed by applying aluminimum tape on the hub making the wheels mount totally centered. Hope this information will help others.

Good to hear that more people are noticing this. I also experience the vibrations around 100-110 km/h in my XC40 2023 single engine. Took it to the dealer for service and while waiting I tested one of their demo cars of same spec and MY and it behaved the same. My suspicion is that it has something to do with the power output because I’ve also felt it in head wind at lower speeds. Its also noticeable when accelerating, which can be expected but it should not be present when cruising. Let’s hope they find a solution for it.

Concerning the poor LTE signal... My XC40 had that symptom before. The fix was to reboot the TCAM module by holding down the physical front defrost button for at least 20 seconds. Do this at least 2 times with also an infotainment reboot beforehand (holding down the home button). After I performed that sequence, my signal went from 30% to 100%.

Thanks for the update. I also have the steering wheel vibration in my 2023 C40 Twin. Dealership rebalanced the tires with no luck. Hopefully Volvo fixes it soon.

Hi Steven, Thom, I also have the same issue (vibration at 60/70 mph) with my XC40 2023 TWIN. Did you guys get any update on this? Local dealer acknowledged the problem and confirmed its not related to alignment or tires balance, but no solution... Thanks in advance for your input!

I have an C40 Plus edition single motor late 2023. I have been to my dealer in Sweden and they say if you have some moist and foggy inside the tailight it´s fine. But if you have drops inside the taillights after rain or washing the car it is not sealed enough. In my case I have drops inside the taillight and the dealer just going to change my taillights under warranty. Check with your dealer if you can get the taillights change if you have problem with moist in them.

I am in Thailand I have a XC 40 P8 2022 model. When I got the car the internet radio was fine 2 months ago the LTE 4g started to keep dropping out and internet radio was impossible to use I reverted to Bluetooth radio from my phone Radio Paradise here they say that a part is broken and Volvo Thailand have ordered this part but it will take one day to fit it I have only done 8k KLM’s with the car it’s one year old soon. I am very disappointed with the radio internet not working like you apart from that it’s a great car.I have heard reports that this internet problem is happening a lot. Regards

Thx Thom for your update! I had my C40 Twin ultimate my23 at the dealer for wind shield replacement last week, and they installed v2.7 as well. Only notable difference, to me, the buzzing noise is gone (finally 😊). Vibrations yeah, still same, I hope there will be a fix out soon. And I do have moisture in tail lights as well, weird for a 60k+ car

I’ve got the poor internet connection from time to time as well here in Thailand, some because of the unstable connection of the network here given the benefits of the doubt but sometimes my phone are running smoothly but the car just can’t find the connection for the music streaming services (I also relying heavily on the streaming radio service)

Vibration - I've just purchased an XC40 Recharge P8 and it's back in the shop with a steering wheel vibration issue. It seems that this is a known issue and that corporate is collecting information via tech reports. Have you gotten any satisfaction and do you know of other cases. 6:17 - Let's see if we can get resolution

I’ve had my new C40 for 3 months now; and I too have the same moisture issue in the rear lights. And it’s never been near a pressure washer I have a single motor, with 19” wheels and I have no issues with vibrations

I noticed that condensation the day that I picked it up at the dealership. Issued a complaint on that, and on other issues, and I have recently received a response from the dealership that Volvo is planning to replace them when they get a solution from their supplier... whatever that means... Recently I have a new issue where I can't open the door when the car is unlocked... only opens after locking and unlocking.

My 2022 Polestar 2 had really bad connection issues. I had it fixed three times and it’s still very flaky. The dealer said its something called Tcam and is a huge problem that was not fixed even up 2023 cars. I also had vibration and suspension fixed under warranty but I still have vibrations. Im at 30000 kms. Quaiity could be better considering the price I paid.

I had a Volvo 360 that had that problem. In the end I had to sell it as we couldn’t fix it.

Please keep adding comments about the feedback you are getting from Volvo with reference to the vibration. I just took ownership of a new C40. The car is great but the vibration is annoying. Hopefully Volvo is taking this seriously and honestly trying to design a fix.

I have the xc40 recharge twin and I don’t seem to have the vibrations (I rarely exceed 100km/hr). With regards to LTE, Volvo doesn’t support a data plan in my country (can’t understand why) but they seem to have enabled OTA updates and app usage (preheat, precool,lock, unlock etc) from 2.5.1. I can’t wait for proper LTE to be supported. That’s my only grudge at the moment.

@@thom-lov Malta (EU) I got the car in late September with 2.3 so I already had CarPlay. Apart from the physical defects the car had, this no data connection was a bit of a nightmare and we were instructed to hotspot to our iPhone using Bluetooth (which is very slow). Enabling CarPlay would disable Bluetooth, leaving the car with no data. Starting from 2.5.1 (I used to go to the dealer for the updates), we got the internal sim enabled for basic things such us preheat, precool, lock, unlock, battery status and finally OTA updates. 2.7 was my first OTA update and it uodated with no WiFi or Bluetooth enabled and having no LTE which was very wierd. Seeing how Volvo enabled several other countries last year including Greece and Finland, im still hopeful for a proper LTE experience as hotspotting to wifi is a pain for basic data which the car needs (app updates, Spotify, traffic etc). One interesting note is that Volvo are playing hard ball. They don’t even want to enable the SIM card slot near the rear view window. We would just pop in a sim and get it sorted. I really can’t understand why Volvo doesn’t support Malta as we have 3/4/4.5G nationwide (and I really do mean everywhere) with 5G already in one third of the country. Not to mention that other Volvos coming overland from other European countries still have their data roaming active while in malta. Colour me confused 😂
