Volvo I-Shift Transmission Removal, Inspection and...CRAP! That's not good. This gonna be expensive!

The Volvo I-Shift transmission is a GREAT trans. This is one of the best heavy duty, automated manual transmission out there. EATON was the leader in the early days of truck automatics but now every OEM is now designing their own automatic/automated manual transmissions. The Volvo I-Shift has been around since 2001 and has evolved into a very reliable trans. Their low maintenance and very basic. In this video, I remove and tear into an I-Shift because a pneumatic failure caused gear damage.

Is there converter bolts and if yes where is it easier to take them out?

It’s an automated manual so there’s a clutch like a normal manual. Bell housing bolts and pull.

We didn’t put the new TCM on. We used the old one that came with the other trans.

I'm debating whether to use the iShift transmission or convert it to a regular manual transmission. The engine is completely GONE, we didn't need it! 🤔🤔💀💀💀
