Thanks for posting this video. Spent about an hour looking for MAP sensor on my 05 V70. Your video was only reason I found it, Thank-you, thank-you thank-you.

Thanks for the video. At 3:37 into it, you describe the small vacuum line with elbows. It runs from the intake manifold to the left position on the backside of the filter box. After my engine began stalling at idle, I noticed this line has cracked. Could that be the cause? I want to replace this line but can't find it anywhere online. Have any suggestions?

I pulled my hose and it didn't affect the idle. So perhaps it's another issue.

it can definetly cause problems if it is the one going to the MAP sensor under the front clip bar holding the radiator.

Good video and helpful. What is that silver aluminum pipe laying on top of the engine. It’s sitting pretty loose on both ends. Is it en extra hot air intake??

Thanks! I think my intake air heater is blocked. Ones the engine is hot it starts like shit... Also idles when I brake on stationair rpm. Any idea how to fix that?

Try cleaning the throttle body (see video) and maybe verify the MAF. May also ask forums such as www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/

What is the name of the tiny hose on second 0:25? You mentioned the top and bottom ones but not the thin one in the middle. Thanks

Peppermint, thanks for the video. Don't think you mentioned the knock sensor location though. Where is it located and is the knock sensor on the non-turbo 2000 V70, relatively easy to replace, if necessary?
@Peppermint1

The 2000 V70 is going to be the P1 platform - different than the P2 one shown in the video. But perhaps the knock sensors are located more or less at the same place given the engine block is very similar. I do show the knock sensor for the 01-109 S60 V70 non turbo engine here kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6PNYmCked1micU. For the turbo engines from 01-09, it's a different location and there are two sensors. The good news is these sensors don't have problems. If you get engine detonation under heavy load, I would look first to other possibilities. I had such severe pinging on my non turbo, it was caused by poor engine cooling: a previous owner mixed the coolant with tap water and limestone deposits inside the block were preventing the coolant from flowing easily. I used two bottles of Prestone Radiator Flush for a few weeks and this fixed the problem - careful because 2 bottles is about 4 times the normal amount and it will expand a lot inside the coolant tank with foam. May also look at the intake air thermostat if you have a non turbo engine (see my channel), also use the correct spark plugs (these have important role in transfering the heat), also I suggest removing the small top plastic cover over the ignition coils - this keeps the heat to the coils and reduces their life.

what is the difrent betwen the front O2 sensor and the rear one ? and i mean the difrent of the sensor itself not its job . why the front one is very expenseiv , and what is the univirsel sensors ? i still have the the front sensor and its not working but the connector is there and working but sensor itself is defected , should i change all unit or can i use universal sensors , if you can make a good video about this will be great . thanks bro .

I believe they are made in a different way (internal components) and I think they work differently too. The front one (upstream) is also heated if I remember well (it has a wire to heat it up when the engine is still cold). I'm not sure about the universal ones, but I'm quite sure most aftermarket ones will throw a Check Engine light on these cars. Also the genuine ones have different cable length (and perhaps different connectors). I put an NTK for the front one (the rear one I didn't replace), and it works well (bought on Ebay, after checking the number on Fcpeuro). For removal, see this (non turbo engine) kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3zbZKp_p9mMnpY

@@PC160 In theory, this hose only circulates 'hot air', basically the intake would suck hot air from around the exhaust (but not exhaust gases, just regular air), especially in winter days at start up. Be sure to look at the vids about the intake air thermostat on these non turbo engines kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpKlemSVbr2khqc
