there is only music, nothing else. So if it's too loud, turn it down. Problem solved.

So my mechanic suggested to change it since it is 15 years old and 95000km. But he didn't even open it to see what it looks like. A bit weird isnt it?

Timing belts are made from rubber and other components that deteriorate over time. It is recommended to replace it every 4 to 6 years, disregarding mileage.

This videos show nothing other than annoying rap music. You show the old belt, and then quickly the new is installed with zip ties secured. How you you get the old one off and put the new one in?
@Pabloel2 жыл бұрын
You count the teeth, transfer the marks. First put on the belt on the crank. Secure the exhaust cam wheel, and than the other. They are both under tension from the valve springs and zip ties help to keep the belt from slipping.

taking the pully wheel off (harmonic balencer) without locking the flywheel at your peril more so torxing it up putting it back on and no you carnt rely on the marks on the sprockets becouse the cams can move out of position without the sprockit moving at all. only fail safe way (without properly locking everything up ) is take the head cover off and mark in there too along with the flywheel . i know some people are probly going comment saying how come theres so many vids on you tube not doing that and my answear is how many people would do a foillow up saying i think i messed up some how coz my timimg is shot or still engine is shot . ???
@Pabloel7 ай бұрын
That is why I mark the old belt, transfer the marks to the new belt and than rotate the engine twice to make sure nothing is out of place. This way you are 100% sure than nothing has moved

@@Pabloeli know what your saying and i see your logic for sure BUT im talking about if you carnt undo the pully bolt and you havnt locked the fly wheel up all that force without a TOOL LOCKING flywheel, esp if its a "floating " pully .your way is hardly "genius" im sure most mechanics could think of that so why are they all on youtube saying you have to lock the flywheel if youve got a very stubbon pully bolt I think yours is very good idea and a very good fail safe BUT maybe the title is wrong "WITH NO SPESCIAL TOOLS " beouse i think you need 1 to lock flywheel when you undo that pullybolt for the very first time .Please tell me if you still think im wrong and explain why .????

@@riskfreesolutionsforbusiness I can see your point and I value it. It is very important. So let's make it clear - if you cannot take the big bolt out of the crank easily you'd better leave that job for proffessional. You are risking SERIOUS damage to the engine. No locking tool will help you if it is siezed - you need inductive heating tool (not a torch) plus expierience and patience in order to save the engine. I have broken my share of tools... trust me ;) However that is a very rare case, usually we are talking about chain driven solutions where everything was in place for tens of years.

I got some tips of this video, but why you need add shitty music on it? People watch assembly videos because they do thinks, not to listen you favourite music. Speaking its ok, even if you dont have more skills of it.

@@Pabloel You jumped over the most important and unknown parts of the process. For example you show the belt tensioner but you don't show how to tension the belt. Everybody knows about removing and putting back parts, because they are there to see. But it is the situation like how to tension the belt that is not understood by anyone who never done it before. Showing how to use the tensioner is the most important part of the process, and you left that out. Showing how to do the accrual tensioning is done would have been more valuable than the 80% of what you have shown. I noticed another couples of similar things you left out, but I forgot what they are.
