That is an incredible amount of work right on the driveway without a proper lift. l would hesitate to do it, but kudos to you that you did do it. However, it seemed to me that the old transmission was not that bad, and my feeling is that the alignment of the gears at times can jam up, can be realigned with a slight tug at the gear shift or place it in 2nd gear when standing still is my experience for good shifting (not 1st gear, but 2nd because realigned occurs as you are pulling down the shifter, not up as in 1st or 3rd).

With the transmission I got this gearbox for £75 from the scrapyard and this car had a bit of clutch judder and I thought the flywheel was warped but it wasn't the clutch disk was warped but In the next video will cover the clutch but that video won't cover how to remove the transmission as this video covers that but I also replaced the rear crank seal and the clutch was different to the original gearbox the gearbox I removed was 23 spline and the gearbox I fitted was a 20 spline so I had to get a 20 spine clutch and I got a pressure plate and I also replaced the slave cylinder And then I refitted the gearbox I hope you find this helpful and the original clutch was very heavy and tiring to drive but the new clutch is nice and light and I hope this helps and take care
