I used a blind hole/ pilot bearing kind of puller to rather easily pop that splined shaft out. I bought a set off of Amazon and it contained 8 sizes and it took size 7, and included a cute slide hammer that did the job. Inserting the new one back in takes some hammer tapping until you hear the sound change. This is something I didn't see covered. But great vid though!

Nice video! how many hours did this job take you? I've been putting it off for years but the wife's XC90 doesn't have 4x4 and it would be nice to have it. I am worried at this point if we fix the front collar, is anything wrong with the Haldex unit in the back.... I've seen issues with the electronics and that's costly to replace.

I have a question about the differential (Angle gear), do you have remove 100cc of fluid(Front) and 50cc (Rear) when you fill it to the top of the fill plug? wonder if everyone agrees that a weak CV axle is what puts pressure on the seal it faces on that set-up that is or touches the angle gear/shaft/whatnot: thus, early change-outs of CV axle is imperative to prevent both this Collar damage/and-or more damage
