Which threadlocker strength are you using, high, medium, or low strength? In my world, red threadlocker is practically permanent, might be too much

btw, you dont need to access service mode, actually on my xc40 i couldnt get service mode to work. however, when turning the car on using your method, i have a option to 'press the brake pedal to disengage park brake', which is what i did, then turned the car off, the park brake stayed disengaged.

actually you do need to access service mode, disengaging the park brake using the method above pulled back the park brake but not all the way, i wasn't able to squeeze the pistons back until i actually got it into service mode.
