Guys buyng this. It worked in the end, seamlessly. If there is no input to the unit it gives control back to the CD changer. That causes the head unit to go off for a second. When a BT unit is connected, the control is taken back and head unit goes off again for 1 second. If there is a USB drive inserted all goes well. 6 changes the BT audio to USB audio and vice versa. XC90 2005. Apparently you can also use the CD changer with this unit.

I was advised to use white/purple cdchanger supply cable xc90 2005, which is permanent 12v , even when ignition off.

Which wires are those? What set of wires is it connected to? The red and black wires connect to purple/white?

@@deereed5171 (if still applicable) it is connected to the cd changer harness. cant remember now which ones goes where but I have used a multimeter to find out )(black in negative, red is positive on the adapter. 4 months down the road, works well. It needs to have an usb drive plugged in.

does not show how to identify constant power wire and ground and the splicing process to the red and black power wires that go into the mr12volt box. the optical wire installation is is satisfactory, AFAIC. guess i'll have to drag out the 'ole volt meter. ugh! another youtube video (not this one, but another one similar to this one) shows how to use the splicing connectors (but not the ones in the kit, although i suppose i can figure that out) nor does it, again, show how to identify the constant power wire to the CD player nor the ground wire to the CD player as installed at the factory. and although the instructions say that the mr12volt unit needs power from an unswitched 12v power source, i'm going to try the cd player on off button wire (if there is one and i can find it) because there are no memory dependent items on the cd player that i am aware of that would need an unswitchable power source.... i may be wrong, IDK. we'll see.

@@mattydoublexl A bit of an old comment I know but have you had issues with the radio flashing on and off with your mr12volt unit? I've installed it on a 2004 XC90 and after a week of use, the ICM display keeps turning on and off and the volume is turning on and off.

Terrible video, you should do it in english language. I can't even see how the deep switches need to be set up. The indications about how to use it are not clear as well. I encourage you guys to make a better video
