30 km sounds about right for 17 degrees celcius. I also get that kind of range in the summer. In the winter, it takes a nose dive into the low twenties. (21-22 km). By the way; the usable cap is 6,7 Kw in the 2015 / 2017 version (total cap is 9.4 Kw).

Hello, can you provide feedback on how the battery age in cold climate countries as Norway. I mean it is ok to have less milage when cold, but what is your feedback with years, does the battery goes low power (when warm too) when it ages?

Hi. I dont really think i have noticed any range degradation of the batteries. There probably is some, but nothing you notice.

Hi, Is that also recharging when you are braking? And is there any speed limit for Pure Electric use?
@jobathano1660
@jobathano1660 4 жыл бұрын
Yes it recharges while braking. I don’t think it’s a speed limiter for electric, so you can go 60mph+/100kmh+. Not very efficient at high speeds, but if you just intend to drive electric for a short trip it’s not a problem.

Hello, My Friend! I'm from Latvia. Usually most people in my country buy car when it is about 10 years old because of economic situation. How do You think.. If some day I will buy T8 with 200000-250000km on odo, than it will be still ok car? Battery and electric parts? 🙂 How do You think what is maximum km without big investments? And what kind of investments You predict in future?

I dont really know, so it would just be speculations. But i think the engine it self is good and Volvo have always made bulletproof 4 cylinders. Since the engine is used inn all Volvo models, i think they have put a lot of effort into this one. The turbo is for high end and the supercharger is clutched and just for low end, so i would think both of them should not get to much wear. For the ev system you will probably see some minor rang loss, but not to much. I think the warranty is 8 years/160.000km for the ev part, but its not like i think it will just go out after that. I see evs from 2012 every day and you also see old hybrids like prius/lexus driving around. The car to me fels just like new after 130.000km, just minor interior wear on driver seat. I would think the car is made for service life of 10 years, after that you will probably need to repair things, but i think these bigger cars are built to be driven long distances.

Just when thinking more about it, like when i have travelled to like new york most taxis are hybrids. Since the electric is taking off some of the torque in low range start stop driving, i would think it also puts less wear on the engine and transmission.

Is there a delay in braking and speeding while on electric ? Does it jolt when switch to gas? Never driven hybrid but really interested in this one .
@jobathano1660

The car coasts like any other car, but you can also have the system set like in a full electric, where it regens/brakes when take your foot of the pedal. It does not save more energy compared braking, but nice for one pedal driving in city’s.. otherwise the brake pedal is like in any other car, but up to a certain point it is just using the electric motors to save energy and if you brake hard it’s using the regular discs. You want feel this transition and you can manually select brake pedal feel. In pure mode it stays on electric longer, you have like a rev counter that show when the gas starts. In electric it is slower, but it can get you up to speed as long as you don’t need to much acceleration. But if you pull out and need to speed up the gas will kick in very fast, you can feel the transition and there is a slight delay, but it’s very smaal. In hybrid mode the car will switch over to gas faster, better for longer trips.

Jobathano Thanks for the explanation. It sounds like something I will definitely test drive . I was scared because of watching reviews everyone else stating delay with braking and acceleration but they never answered me thanks so much for explaining it in non mechanical terms . Stay safe and healthy.

this model has air suspension?
@BluWarta92

Not necessarily, air suspension was/is an option in XC90. Atleast in Europe, don't know if it differs in US market since it's most important region in sales of this SUV.
