When you feel like you're 'swimming' in the seat while cornerng, try to use the adjustable side bolsters. It will really help. Honestly, when you try to review a car, don't bash it because you don't know what it has to offer. Maybe you just never experienced that kind of adjustable car seat before?

Volvo really know how to do interiors these days. Like the detail on things like getting into the rear seats - this it the kind of stuff people need to know.

Bob, brilliant review as always. I was looking to buy a 181 XC90 recently and yes, there massive. The interiors are quality , absolutely beautiful, but to get to where I going to with this comment, parked beside the Volvo was an equally massive, impressive looking machine with just as an impressive beige leather interior. It was a 181 with equal mileage on the clock. The spec sheet was second to none and in fact had more gizmos than the Volvo.. Best thing about it though. Almost HALF the price, incredible. It was a Ssangyong Rexton. New model.. ultimate 2.2d. Because of this I havnt been able to make up my mind.... Please help Bob. Or anyone in bobland, can you help..

Bob, the seats aren’t that difficult to operate. The climate can be controlled via voice control, just press the button on the steering wheel and say “I’m cold” or “set temperature to 21 degrees” it’s also easy to park if you opt for the 360 cameras.

Hey Bob agree with you with the knobs for Climate Control I can see how distracting it can be to adjust without knobs, I’ve never had a car without knobs for it, but I had 07 Ford Focus back in the day and I could control the temperature with voice control, to be fair it worked well most times in selecting the temperature I wanted. Would the knobless systems you used on various cars have this? 12 years on from my focus surely voice control is a lot better.

Hi Bob , love the Sunday service and all your car reviews need some sound advice I am a disabled driver so use push pull hand controls instead of the pedals ,I miss the engagement and feel through the pedals but it is what it is ,I qualify for the primary health certificate as I have M.S so don't pay vat or vat to a max value of €10,000,,I currently have a 142 auris hybrid and love it ,what do you think I should look at buying new or used as I need a little higher for entry in and out of vehicle don't need a huge 4x4 as I do all city driving in Cork once a month to either Kerry or Dungarvan but wouldn't be opposed to going higher up and advice from a fella in the know would be much appreciated ,by the way i love your honesty about cars and the way you review them no prisoners if it's not right say it or forever hold your peace

Hey Pa, cheers for the comments. Have you looked at the T-Roc from Volkswagen? That has a higher driving position but still feels like a normal car to drive. Toyota CHR is a great looking car and has a decent position but the rear room is a little cramped. There's loads of small crossovers on the go now and most of them have a higher-than-hatchback position for driving, T-Roc is just my favourite

@@BobFlavinVideo thanks Bob if I buy new I get up to a max of €10 k off if I buy used from UK I can claim vrt cost back I also would need to be able to fit a nobility scooter in the back I have telescopic channel ramps so easy loading and unloading it fits in auris with back seats folded just room for 2 bags then I honestly don't know what to do buy good 2nd hand petrol and go back a few years as I don't have to worry about car tax either

How far will it go in EV only mode Bob? The reason i ask is my brother in law has one the last 2 years and when they come to visit he religiously takes out his extension lead and charges the car every night, because "petrol is expensive" (he's English :-P )

I have the 2016 version and it can do 20 miles in the summer (13 miles during cold spells). The 2020 version can do about 20 percent better so, 18 miles sounds achievable any time of year, in real life.

i dont like nor even trust those small overpimped engines putting out hp like racecars ! 313hp from a shit 2.0ltr in a massproduced production ? good luck ! I know what i´m speaking about, i drove over 20 year s AUDI and the TFSI shit are the worst of all ! Now i´m very happy with a 3,5ltr V6+Hybrid which has 250000km on it and power like new ! LEXUS

Unless you need the 7 seats, the XC60 T8 is even faster (less weight for drivetrain to lug about) and cheaper - and the same interior. The XC60 T8 also has the same fuel tank size as the no PHEV version - unlike the current XC90T8. Although Volvo say the XC90T8 will be getting a bigger fuel tank this year.
@r.gelmers6580
@r.gelmers6580 3 жыл бұрын
Not entirely the same interior. XC60 is slightly less posh in its material usage overall. For example, the center console does not have any leather on the sides in the XC60. Another example: the number of memory positions is 2 instead of 3.

Good video, but you make a big meal out of getting into the back, first of all you should of practised it BEFORE you show your audience !! don't argue !! makes you look very unprofessional ! To start with, you would not have to pull the second row seat back yourself once you are in the rear seats !! THINK, unless you intend to drive the car from that position ! but having said that, it should have a button to reset the seat back into position, avoiding the need for the actual driver to do it for you. Did you have the car in POWER mode when you were testing the acceleration ? if not you will find everything stiffens up and the responses are much sharper including the handling and acceleration ! Once again you avoided the voice control for the heating !! all you have to do is say " I'm cold' and it will automatically raise the temp by one degree, much simpler than fiddling with knobs ! or say ' I'm hot' and it will decrease the heat setting by one degree, SIMPLES :-)

@@BobFlavinVideo lol, no and no, I own a 2005 V70 D5, so far away from an XC90 as you can possibly get, and I am a retired Upholsterer, but you are not the only reviewer on KZbin that constantly fails to show us the ability of the voice control ! always complain about having to play with the touchscreen ! I have only seen one reviewer actually show the viewer how the voice control works !! and I've seen dozens and dozens of reviews of new Volvo cars with the new centre touchscreen.
@BobFlavinVideo
@BobFlavinVideo 5 жыл бұрын
@@Colin623 Do you not think there's something wrong when dozens of professional reviewers complain about the touchscreens? Maybe the car companies who sell cars are right after all and they ask us to review their cars for fun?
@Colin623
@Colin623 5 жыл бұрын
@@BobFlavinVideo Yes of course I am aware of the design faults, and I agree their is too much control of these systems being put into the infotainment system, that wasn't my point, my point was that you don't have to use the touchscreen to change the heat settings , as well as other settings, avoiding the need to fumble through pages of apps, all I am saying is, be fair, showing the viewer that their is more than one way to achieve what you are looking to do ! Like I said before, I have watched dozens and dozens of videos on KZbin regarding this infotainment system, and I can only remember one or two showing the easier option for changing the heat settings whilst you are driving ! in other words , if you and others are supposed to be informing your viewers of the tech in a new car, and how it works, then show ALL of the options, don't just zoom in on the downside only ! any fool can criticise, yes, mention it by all means, but don't leave it there, show your viewer that their is actually another alternative to using the touchscreen, I'm not saying the voice control is perfect, just that you would be giving your viewer more factual information, after all, isn't your job to give full details of a cars abilities and design features ? regardless if you like the them or not !!
