Suzukis are built like tanks. Mine is 11 years old and purrs like a kitten, whisper quiet. I changed my plugs two days ago and runs fine. Thanks for vid. Gave me some great tips.

ln many parts of the world, a nickname for Suzuki cars is "The Toyota of the 90's" which is a high compliment meaning that Suzuki is now what Toyota used to be in the 90's with their rock solid engine designs that could go practically forever when you do the proper maintenance on them. The J20, J18, J16 engine are also very similar in design to some of the 90's Toyota engine designs so not surprising their potential for outstanding longevity when properly maintained.

Unfortunately, there is the design issue for several replacements a d other things due to space constraints. If the transmission goes out, it will be a major issue in a brand that stopped making cars a decade ago.
@robertlee4172 Жыл бұрын
@@spooky5338 Did they? Oh really...someone better call Toyota. Because their collaboration with Suzuki is null. Subaru will need a similar warning, as they've been manufacturing cars with Suzuki for years. As far as "design issues'', what car comes off an assembly line flawless? FYI, Suzuki never '"stopped making cars a decade ago."
@spooky5338 Жыл бұрын
@@robertlee4172 Oh, I guess I should have specified that they completely froze sales of cars in the US, and that Subaru barely sells half the parts necessary to repair/replace anything pre-2010, maybe even 2013, which is the final US car year. Also, working on this car is a total chore, accessing the oil filter by hand is a nightmare, you need a tool or to stab it, the majority of work that might be 2 hours of labor is double that on this car, and if the tranny goes out, I have no recourse. Even something like a molded aluminum A/C hose that goes to the condenser is near impossible to get unless I go to a scrapyard, and it would take hours of labor for them to pull it out, unless there's a compatible car with the engine already fully pulled out. So yes, 2013 is when suzuki stopped making cars (at least in the US), and Subaru/Toyota's partnership is pretty useless when some of the critical parts are inaccessible. Idler pulley is a cheap and easy replacement, but this car will not last 200k miles from 150k when I bought it in the current US market. Btw I likely need a new evaporator core, and everything else A/C related to get it blowing cold and even the "OE" replacement Four Seasons compressor I bought didn't fit without an adapter.
@robertlee4172 Жыл бұрын
@@spooky5338 ''Oh, I guess I should have specified... froze sales of cars in the US'' Quite an oversight. All that other stuff you needlessly drone on about is extraneous nonsense. These aren't the cars you're looking for, move along.

I did the same as you, but there's a big problem. There's no fluid coming out when I turn the wheel lock to lock (engine is off) or there's just a little bit (like 50 ml after 15 lock to lock turns)? I didn't turn ignition on, should I or it should pump old fluid without ignition anyway?

Thanks for the videos. I just got a 2008 Suzuki SX4 2 months ago, so these are really helping. Any chance on any video showing how to change an intake manifold gasket? A few days ago, I put in some bad gas and put in Stabil and SeaFoam. The “check engine” light is on, but the car seems to be running normally. This morning, it was running/sputtering a bit in low idle, and the “check engine” light was flashing. I added some more gas and SeaFoam and it runs normally again. When I went to AutoZone, they checked the engine codes. They were: P0171, P0300, P0302, P0304.

You need proper diagnostics. It should be nice and easy to steer.

@@GY1025960 volvosweden is correct but the first thing I would check would be tire pressure. Another possible cause can be a pump thats on its way out.
