I only just started this video essay but the intro is *chef's kiss*.

Thank you for this thoughtful and thought-provoking essay on such an interesting subject. We tend to take for granted all the things we see around us today, but not in such a great time they will be at risk of disappearing, especially if they are in digital form (which is a paradox, I know, but that's how things are). This is were the duty of the archivist first and the historian second come into play. Literally, in this case. Thanks again and keep up your work!

wonderful, thoughtful, poignant essay. i can relate heavily to archiving things diy style. it's a passion of mine to rip old CDs, movies, and scan art books and weird cultural oddities. i have an obsession with documenting the quirky kitschy pieces of my own homestate of wisconsin. it's all always a labor of love and sharing those resources when the work gets completed always remains a proud treasure. because no matter how official a capacity something gets preserved in, it is always the hard work of a dedicated few that push it thru to fruition. and i found a lot of heart in the messaging here of connecting to works of art that others have discarded as invaluable. it really does make the world go round to build connections to these kinds of artifacts. really looking forward to more essays from this channel, glad i found it on a whim!

Where can I find your archives, if you have any?

I forgot where but I was listening to a small discussion about what if balance patches for characters in fightinh games had the name of the designer responsible. Now I'm thinking on how the labor is stolen and the history lost

That UCLA movie seems very interesting. I am trying to transition and haven't started HRT yet. I could use all the help I can get.

Came here for Vonnegut Stayed for an unbelievably well done video essay and I’m only halfway through Solid gold

Vonnegut's GHQ seems to be out of stock everywhere (online at least). If anyone has a copy they are willing to sell at the B&N price, please contact me (via my channel email).

I wanted to be a board game archivist but when I had to move I couldn't afford to keep all the old stuff on the odd chance a museum wouldn't throw them away...

Great work! Really interesting thought avenues and future rabbit holes to go down. If anything is missing here, it might be a mention of the Sid Sackson Portal hosted on the National Archives page. Perhaps a future episode? 😊

Appreciate the detailed breakdown! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?

Is it just me, or is there an audio track that is missing?
@amabel_holland8 күн бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean. Can you not hear the video?
@markperry16038 күн бұрын
To clarify, I only hear the incidental music, the films, and the interviewed people, but not Anabel. I only ever hear her in the Patreon plug at the end of the video. That's why I'm wondering if an audio track is missing.
@amabel_holland8 күн бұрын
@markperry1603 huh! Not hearing any other reports of this problem and it's playing fine for me. This is very strange!
@tristanschafer18 күн бұрын
@@markperry1603 You'll have to change the sound settings on either your computer or your headphones, her voice appears to only be in the left audio channel so you may be panned all the way to the right.

@@tristanschafer1 oh geez! okay, this makes more sense now. I can't actually hear in stereo myself - can't tell which ear sounds are going into, or what direction they come from - and this was my first time using a new editing software.
