Very true. 'Soup' is my favorite album by Blind Melon. Like you stated one of the greatest albums ever. If only the radio would play other tunes by them. They are way more than 'No Rain' as you know. More people need to experience being a Melonhead.

Whilst humming, Melon's rendition of this song has actually replaced Zeppelin's in my mind. It's tighter and the sonic quality is just mesmerizing. Plus Shannon's voice... what can I say? Viva Hoon.

Kudos, so weird that only one genius can do it, I kinda wish that chris,rogers,etc. would've kept going. The two guitar thing was really where I was at. Back in the day cds were recorded in stereo with a right and left. Scratch on one side and melody on the other side. Tones and time were the reason i dug it. And by the way guys, I HAVE ALWAYS STOLE YOUR STYLE , SLIDING SIXTHS ON soul one, awesome, yellow house, great stuff on acoustic. Bare bones music, pro tools can blow me. If it sticks at the coffee house, it is music. RANT RANT, LOVE BLIND MELON, NOT JUST SHANNON, BY THE WAY, NOT EVEN ONE COVER HAS GOTTEN CLOSE. KINDA FREDDIE MERCURY. FLAME BLEW OUT A LITTLE 2 QUICK.

I like Blind Melon, but I absolutely hate their "adjustment" of this song's classic riff. To my ears, it adds an uninteresting, lethargic heaviness to the song. It's akin to painting gold bullion with a layer of DuPont Aztec Gold. I understand the idea of making a cover your own, but this just didn't work for me. Gotta hand it to Hoon, though. He's bringing the goods in this video. Possibly one of the greatest rock vocalists ever.
