First time comment here... I've been quietly watching your channel for over a year to learn more about knitting, and I've enjoyed following your progress with all your projects. So I was quite surprised to see beadwork in this episode, let alone a design from my buddy Kinga! You did a wonderful job with her fishie and I love the idea of it hanging in your rear view window. As you've seen, Kinga's work is amazing and she's even more delightful in person, so I hope you get to take a class with her soon.

Oh my goodness, what a small world it is. Kinga Nicholls lives in my town of Jackson, MI. I know her and she is the loveliest person. She teaches classes at our local bead store, Beads to Live By. BTLB recently sponsored our first Jackson Bead Festival which was a big hit with classes by Kinga and other teachers from around the country. I've been making jewelry for years and I'm so glad that you've gotten into it. It's addicting. All of your projects are just wonderful. A fellow bead traveler!!!

Thank you so much, Susan. It's so great to "meet" a fellow beader. 🤗And, STAHP IT!!! Lucky YOU! If you can, please tell Kinga I'm a total fangirl. I'd love to take a live class with her, someday and also totally vibe with her sense of humor. 😆 I was not expecting to love beading so much. 🙌💖

@@Voolenvine I will tell Kinga about you the next time I see her! Just an FYI, Michigan has so much beauty, wild life, good food, etc. to offer. Northern Michigan and the UP are some of the most beautiful places in the country with hiking trails and biking trails. GMA named the Traverse City are a one of the most beautiful places in the country and there is Lake Michigan, Huron and Superior. Also Makinac Island is just a treasure. Anyway, If you and your hubby want a great getaway, Michigan is a wonderful place. While you were here, you could visit Beads to Live By and maybe meet Kinga in person!!!!! I hope I didn't go on too much about Michigan. Maybe even our bead festival which is in August! Take care!!!

Oooh, that Fish! I love fun & quirky & unique! (Side note: when typing “f.u.n.”… I typed FIN. apropos) All the things! Been going thru my acrylic yarn stash, donating… sheesh… this is what happens when stuff is in storage… outta sight outta mind. Sending to new homes. I want to knit more of wool/blends (also very large accumulation), but I make a lot of hats, mitts, cowls w (decent) acrylic for Gifties. Thanks for a fun visit…the beading projects are stunning! PS… I know that “let’s make a lap blanket” … to fit a king size bed = need more yarn, tho… me thinx that’s how MY stash grew ! lol

I did the Hipster lite scarf and funny…I did it with Voolenvine yarn - Grimm with the Stellina. It’s my absolute favorite scarf to wear, I wear it all year round (I’m in Northern Maine). So when I saw your Hipster Tee, I was sold.

Welcome back! I just put two new projects on my list the top you're wearing and the crochet blanket. I love the color combination of your blanket. I'm shocked you found yarn on Posh Mart. You would think if they had yarn on there, it would be some high-end yarn, not Mainstay from Walmart. Not that there is anything wrong with Mainstay. It's a great value yarn. I enjoyed beading for many years just doing other things right now.

Love all your projects especially the beading. Going to try a peyote fob kit soon so hopefully I can do it. I fell in love with EPP over the past several months. Doing a lot of pincushions for gifts this Christmas. Want to try counting pins for them too. It’s great to have a lot of choices for our crafts. I am crocheting the Dune by Attic 24, love her blog plus she has a lot of borders to choose from for afghans. Lots of fun. Have fun creating.

Kristin, I love your bead work. Please take a look at the book "Beading Artistry" by Thom Atkins. He does beading on quilted wall hangings. I took a class with him a number of years ago, and he is amazing. I did a beaded wall hanging, starting with a piece of fabric with koi fish printed on it. I filled in the fish with seed beads, and it is something I am very proud of. I will snap a photo and send it if you would like to see it. Love your podcast and your yarn,I'm a long-time listener

I've done this for garments I've sewn, in the past. I used Rit dye and had a lot of success. Their Pearl grey is great for darkening/muting bright shades and could totally see using it on a quilt top.
