In my opinion we need to have 4 of these Radars. One at Chitradurga , one installed somewhere in northern border of Chattisgarh for eastern side, one in Rajasthan for Western side , and One in Uttar Pradesh for northern side. This would have an exceptional detection capabilities while spreading the load on FOUR radars instead of one and with overlap of the radar beam of 4 Radar it would almost impossible for the enemy missile or aircraft to breach into Indian airspace. Radar can't literally "bend" over the Earth's curve, but over-the-horizon (OTH) radars like Voronezh use ionospheric reflection to detect threats. They bounce signals off the ionosphere, redirecting them beyond the curve

its ability to detect stealth is very debatable as it lacks in a lot of areas that are required to detect stealth. Also what Russia claims compared to what Russia actually delivers are vastly different. Anyone buying into Russian military tech right now would need to be crazy especially with billion dollar price tags. India would be better investing the cash into developing its own radar systems as i believe it would end up being a vastly superior system for a similar cost the only down side would be the development time. But that's just my opinion on it 🤷‍♂️

That's incorrect. These radars are part of Ballistic Missile Defence complexes, it detects Ballistic missiles like ICBMs and IRBMs before they reach their terminal phase.

Stealth aircrafts aren't invisible to these modern radars. Their RCS is way too small for general radar systems to keep a steady track upon them however these systems along with the one that comes with S400 and S500 can track and target such aircrafts.

1] Why every important scientific establishment has to be in south India ? What great discoveries and inventions are made by south Indians ? Even 1? All achievements of south scientists are based on tech that Indian govt acquires from advanced nations. There should be similar science institutes in north India HAL, DRDO (MP), ISRO (on Odisha or Bengal coast) and fair competition. Everyone gets the impression that south Indians are behind all scientific progress. What progress ? After decades of learning, wasting and still using foreign tech ! With north Indians we can surely expect progress ! 2] India with it's low gdp cannot compete against powerful economies and their weapons modernisation programmes. Continously building defences will strain economy even more. What India needs to do is establish deterrence by actively deploying 200-300 nuclear ballistic missiles. Warheads and fissile material in storage is not deterrence. This will take all the pressure off in competing against advanced conventional weaponry. On social front India has to establish greater industrial and agricultural output most importantly providing employment in these areas under developed nations style work and pay system.
