I feel very fortunate to live in central Kentucky. My baby brother has a 100 acre farm that I hunt every year. I’ve never been public land hunting, but I hear that it’s crowded in my neck of the woods. I got into hunting in my late thirties. I’d always loved guns and shooting. My father died when I was 17 and I don’t even think he owned a gun. The farm I hunt has oak trees and pecan trees. It’s paradise. It’s what I imagine heaven looks like.

Been hunting the PNW (OR born & raised/WA/ID/MT/AK) for 35+ years... when Ive gone east its been far and away easier to do. DIFFERENT and with its own difficulties for sure, but far easier then up here in the high-country of the PNW. That said Ive always enjoyed hunting east of the Rockies even if I'd never want to live out there.
