Howa mini action carbon stalker 6mm arc

I have had great groups with 95gr Barnes , 95gr combined technology bullets, 100gr nosler partition and the 103gr ELDX . I took a huge northern Michigan doe at 228yrds with the 103gr ELDX with complete pass thru. Not quite 1/4 towards me so went thru one shoulder and out behind the other. oh note I use AR15 , I haven't finished my bolt rifle yet.

I have your model exactly 1500 mini carbon lite. Had to open barrel channel a bit , it was rubbing when getting warm the zipper noise went away about 200 rounds. 90 grain bullets are what it likes best sierra 90 gamechanger and hdy 90 eldx, speer hot core best right now. Did adeep clean this winter and groups opened up some, just regular cleanings for a while to let barrel get.some copper down. Real nice rifle lite easy carry, flat shooting good to further than i need to shoot doing more load development now

The Hornady 95gr SST and Berger 95gr VLD Hunt have both shot very well in my 6 ARC using Shooters World Match powder

Own both 6mm ARC and 6.5 Grendel in the mini action, love both. Have them in AR uppers also again love them on yotes (mainly 6mm ARC on the yotes ) Shooting 80 gr ELD-VT. Put them both (Howa's) into a Tribe chassis and love em. As I get older I do not miss the heavy recoil of bigger calibers for one reason. AR platforms are 18 in barrel and 20 in HB on the Howa mini's. These rifles are worth it.

Aren’t they the same exact round? Except 6mm arc shoots lighter bullets?

8:40 It is nice. Seems versatile too (to load 65gr for varmint then 80-105gr for bigger game). So 8x power is plenty for a tiny coyote out to 500yds? Or did you mean you’re not interested in anything that far in general and you actually mean 50-100yds is where 8x is plenty? I can’t seem to manage shot placement on small game (rabbit, head vs chest) at 100yd with 8x too easily.

I can see a coyote fine at 500 yards with 8 power ,would like 16 power but don't want the extra weight

I’ve got the 20” heavy barrel in a Stockys carbon stock it’s okay but still needs work

@@codywitt2718 it took me awhile reloading for mine it likes 20 to 40 off the lands before it would group , got about 1000 rounds down mine now

@ I’ve got one in 6.5 Grendal that shoots great just still working out my kinks in 6arc most of my focus has been lighter bullets like 75vmax and 80ELD-VT

Had a carbon elevate in 6 arc. Very heavy bolt lift and extractor smears with all factory ammo. Was very disappointed.

Why 6mm arc over .243 win? I have been eye balling the 6mm arc for an ar platform for coyotes but am not convinced its a better round just yet.

@@jacklaughlin5782 for me it's minimal recoil. I can easily see my shots after squeezing the trigger. And also the savings on powder reloading.I guess I'm cheap, I can get 3250 fps with the 70 nosler with lever revolution powder

@watasha1 yeah I have heard its great for follow-up shots. Especially in a semi auto rifle. I still might go with it for coyotes this year.

By that theory why not the 6mm creedmoor , but the 6mm arc looks like an amazing wee cartridge. Pitty we havnt got it here in Nz yet, not for common hunting stores at any rate. Using a mini action for my 6.5grendel and it’s a cracker rifle.

Can load longer, higher BC bullets like ELD-VT and ELD-M

In an AR platform that is its only perk, it fits in the AR 15 instead of the AR 10. You don't get a lot more because they are loaded for AR pressures, I believe 50k psi. In a bolt gun, it is a wild little round. It's half the size of a 243, shorter and skinnier, and can be loaded to 243 velocity with a heavier bullet. 243 basically tops out at 100 grn with a soft point, whereas 6arc is factory loaded with 100+
