I have to go with Ryan, and I admit full disclosure. I just got a a '22 Tacoma SR5. RWD, 6 sped auto with select shift and tow button. Rated to pull 6k pounds. Enough room to bring a deer out of the woods. Double cab. Comfortable for my wide 6' 4" frame (I have shrunk from the 6' 6" of my youth.) Great for fishing, too. Comfortable to drive and average about 20 mpg with a V-6 that can pull 6k. I also just got a 5x10 trailer with ramp gate for hauling off branch and brush from my home (1/4 acre in a small town.) Hunting deer and fishing, I don't need the extra room. And I have the power of a Tundra without the weight. But I do like Toyota products. This truck is my third Toyota. And my car before that was a Pontiac Vibe, which was basically a Toyota Matrix. Before that, however, was my '96 Chevy Cheyenne 1/2 ton with a V6 Vortec.

Mark definitely has the right idea with the mini gun from predator… Ryan’s argument with the straight pull 458 Lott is good, but the flaw in his logic is that in Jurassic Park you aren’t hunting, you’re fighting for your life. 3-4 shots of 458 Lott isn’t stopping a T Rex, even if it will kill it. If a mini gun is too much to carry I’ll go with a M240 Bravo and if that’s too much I’ll take an M249 SAW

Yeah I would bring something around 308 energy (maybe a little less for weight and recoil) and atleast in an ar10 type rifle, suppressed also. I think if you are alone you are better off not even firing a shot unless you have too but need to be light enough so you can move faster

The best firearm for Jurassic Park is the one man, shoulder fired 155mm howitzer, the one with the rapid fire option that puts out 12 rounds per second. With it's ultra-light 12 1/2 foot long barrel, it only weighs 12,500 lbs. so it's the very definition of 'handy-dandy'. With pure American firearms engineering genius, the usual need for an eleven man crew has been reduced to just one man. Although, it is suggested that a second man be available to write that 'letter of condolence' to the first man's next of kin if he ever does try to fire the thing. Apart from that minor issue, feel free to wander around Jurassic Park in complete safety. FEAR NO T-REX!!

I personally love and daily drive my beloved 2005 Tacoma, and I am 6’9” and 350lbs. Perfect truck to get me and my family into the back country and will leave your pavement princess sitting lonely at the point where the asphalt stops and the lust for adventure begins! Ryan, we can drink beverages and compare notes on long defunct cartridges anytime. 35 rem being one of my favorites. Gun for Jurassic park: either a Marlin 1895 or more realistically a proper stopping rifle, a double gun w/ double triggers with a QD scope in the caliber of your choice, something like .375 H&H/Ruger or .416 Rigby, a Nitro Express, multiple barrel sets are acceptable. Trainer truck: a Hilux, the best truck for off-roading or fighting wars. A rEaL tRuCk: a full size truck with a 4 cyl engine.

As for Jurassic Park; 50 BMG as for trucks; naturally aspirated toyota 4x4 as for bear attack; you have the right to protect yourself and your family no matter whether there is an open season or not. I HATE frivolous tv shows!!!! That's why I watch KZbin!!!! As for the perfect SHTF cartridge I agree with Ryan on the versatility of the shotgun, however it would be hard to carry much ammo. I would therefore go for the 22lr, because you can carry a butt load of ammo and a well placed shot can take everything up to and including deer. If you want to take birds just shot them on the ground. I have an uncle and cousin's who regularly took quail on the wing with 22lr however I couldn't. When I asked how that was possible they replied, "just pick the one's that are going straight away." Oh, yeah, sounds simple! When in a survival situation there are no rules except survival.

Little known fact: the average dinosaur size is less than 8 feet tall. Yes, there are the large carnivores but the vast majority during the Jurassic period were smaller than man sized even though it’s the large ones that get the most News and attention. With that in mind, a .375H&H would be my weapon of choice with brass 350 grain solids.

Since you are in need of ideas, high end, long range air guns, varmitting cartridges in real (ie windy) conditions, step by step dry fire drills for pistol skills development( what kind of times at the beginning vs what a strong intermediate should be seeing), what do various herbs look like, what are they used for and where are they found, I’m wondering if we will ever get more burrito content, (the burrito challenge was funny AND informative), how about some CMP service rifle content, close in hunting with pistols? How to cache your food in bear country, always nice to see new ideas for scouting locations, holsters for competition? More wildcat or small caliber cartridges, something on cougars (not Washington State or anybody’s mom) or some content on wildcats, update on the wasting disease, … ok, I’m done in the bathroom now.

I do have to ask...why not a bolt gun in .700 Nitro for Jurassic Park?
@user-oy9zy4ds9m2 жыл бұрын
There’s actually been a t-Rex skeleton found to be even larger than the one from Jurassic park. The problem with having just ONE gun in Jurassic park is that the dinosaurs that can kill you range from only about half the size of humans to obviously many many times the size. The ones the size of humans and smaller like velociraptors they run in packs and are very fast and can jump far and high. Problem with having a mounted weapon or something too heavy to wield or maneuver quickly is what if you’re flanked or they come up behind you? You’re going to need a much more portable lighter and versatile weapon to deal with all the different types and sizes of dinosaurs. Honestly I believe the best all around weapon would be the new XM5 assault rifle with and ONLY with the new super-high pressure xm1158 advanced armor piercing ammunition. That way you have controllable full auto capability for raptor and Dilophosaurus packs at close range. And the advanced armor piercing rounds should pack enough penetration to (hopefully) get through the t-Rex skull. If they can blast through an inch of hardened steel they should be able to get through a really thick skull.

Jurassic Park? I like the idea of the Blaser in .458 Lott, but I think I would go with a Big Horn Armory AR-10 in .500 Automax shooting some 500 gr solids, because a semi-auto with higher magazine capacity would be more useful than the Blaser when dealing with small, fast, pack hunters like the Velociraptors. Truck wars? Full size, no question. Just like it is easier to do small knife and small gun jobs with a big knife and a big gun than vise versa, it is easier to do small truck jobs with a full size truck than big truck jobs with a small truck. Sometimes, there is no replacement for displacement. Bear attack? There is over 500,000 black bears in North America. Anywhere in North America is bear country when discussing black bears. You can't just not have bird feeders or fruit trees or trash cans because there is probably bears around. They have managed to urbanize, they are smart and adaptive. My EDC is a Glock 20, so I can deal with bears, large dogs, meth'd up defensive ends, you know, life in rural America... Ridiculousness is terrible. This is why our kids are fucking retarded these days. Most versatile cartridge? If were are hunting large pachyderms and dangerous game, .375 Ruger. If we are sticking to North American ungulates, .308 Winchester. I have an AR10 that I would choose as my one rifle for everything from hunting to the Thunderdome.
