Hi from Down Under Tim 🇦🇺 Love ya vids, even the rambling ones like this one... lol. Can't wait to see the 5 parter you've got coming up. Just sold my Speed twin 1200 and purchased the new Rocket 3 storm with the blue/black matt paint, both partially on your reviews and recomendations as it happens. You're never wrong, and never pull any punches in your critique mate and what I'm fast figuring out, as you reviewed, is that this 180hp animal is a surprisingly amazing multidimensional bike to ride... and as it turns out, to live with on a day to day basis. Enjoy the approaching winter as we drench ourselves in the southern sun for a few months. How about a shout out to the viewers from the colonies in an upcoming video. Cheers Jeremy from Brisbane

Thanks so much Jeremy! I’m loving the Storm - I can’t stop riding it. It’s like a funny joke that doesn’t wear thin… it just keeps making me laugh. And it’s actually useable as a real bike with proper suspension and brakes! I’ll try to shout out to the colonials next time I’m out filming

oh good... more war stories. As a motorcyclist with a keen interest in history especially the two world wars, I thoroughly enjoy your historical style motorcycle videos. I have been thinking of getting a Goldwing just so that I can tour parts of Europe with my son in comfort.

Just back from 2 weeks in Spain & Portugal, 2 up with the Mrs & She was telling me off for not nodding/waving at the scooters & L Plates, but my instructor (from nearly 30 years ago) said you have to earn your nod by passing your test! Very much looking forward to the tour stuff, got a spare week late April/Early May for a trip & that area is a possible depending on the weather.

Very much looking forward to the tour and world war series, and super happy it’s over Christmas. A present I actually want… I occasionally nod, depends where I am. Not during my slog of a commute through central London unless it’s an interesting bike or I’m feeling jolly

Those of us who ride on the right side of the road usually acknowledge oncoming riders with a little “under the left hand grip” wave 👋 or ✌️. Although I’ve noticed that many Harley riders have a non functioning left hand 😆, unless of course they think you’re on a Harley too. Winter is when we ride here in the southern US, we “hibernate” in mid summer to avoid being stewed in our own juices 🥵. Looking forward to your tour videos 👍!

I had a multi V4S for nearly 3 years and loved it, traded it on a Multi Pikes Peak and it is gone after 8 months - it is just a big compromise, not a sporty bike not an adventure bike. If you want a sporty upright bike stick with the MT or get one of the other supernakeds. Just my 3 pennies worth ....

Ooo interesting. That's good to hear - I had heard a few people who were slightly underwhelmed by it. And it's a lot of £££ to be underwhelmed by! Thanks for the comment, really appreciate it.

I nod and wave to anyone on two wheels except delivery food riders. I even waved to a Police motorcyclist the other day but, unsurprisingly, he didn't wave back. I'm also looking forward to the NEC this year and have gone for a very long time, though I hate the expensive car parks and high likelihood of getting sick after the event. I make sure to take vit C and hand sanitizer.

You can have my v4 pikes peak, Tim. It would be expensive to ship from Utah, but at least it's loaded with everything under the sun and then some.
@timrodierides2 ай бұрын
Are you enjoying it or not really?
@volodymyrshoniia24242 ай бұрын
@@timrodierides eh, it's much better with 200/60 rear and lowered front forks in the triple tree for improved front end feel, and steering stabilizer to reduce oscillations, but still lacks front end feel and engagement/involvement/visceral feel that nekkeds have much more of, fast and capable, but there's no running away from the weight and size in tighter stuff. The akra system also makes the right foot ergos awkward and makes my toe sliders meet the pavement earlier than they should unless I do something weird and very uncomfortable with my right foot, the engine isn't as lovely as my tuono was, I wish it was a bit more exciting to rev out and sounded better when not going hard (the induction roar at high revs and wot is great, but I don't get to experience it all that often), the quick shifter and the shift lever itself are hot garbage, clunky, and high effort. Nice on the highway (with a big windscreen), too big for filtering around town, nice when I'm tired thanks to adaptive cruise and blind spot, and nice for phone integration/nav/music + all the heated things when it's colder. It just doesn't make me want to ride purely for fun, and it's too expensive for me to not be the only bike since it makes me want a separate fun bike. Love the top box for commuting, never really use my panniers, or tank bag, or tail bag, never have a passenger either, so I would be fine with something smaller. Patiently waiting for more info on the new super duke gt and rc990 in November.

I've gone off MCL - even the importers are starting to lose interest. Much better day out at the Stafford show, it's cheaper and a much better experience all round. With the bonus of the Bonhams auction too.. Not so good for new models though. Next year: trip to France to meet up with a gallic Triumph owners club, another run to Luxembourg with my newly licensed son (who now pays his own way, it's revolutionary) and a trip to Goa later in the year to hire an old RE and channel my inner Freddie Dobbs. A few long weekends (I'm forming a strange attraction to Durness for some reason) and the odd camping trip in dear old Blighty. I'd love to chuck an Alps trip in too but it may be a bridge too far. We shall see. I love this time of year, thinkng about next season. Trouble is bloody Christmas gets in the way, then the three hours of cold short daylight for six weeks. Humbug.

Looking forward to your recent European tour videos but we have to wait until Christmas? I remember reading an article in the 80’s posing the question are you a nodder, a waver or a flasher ? Flashers died out once it became mandatory for headlights to be on all of the time. I acknowledge nearly all two wheelers I come across but I draw the line at Mods on scooters. Most bikers around here (Northants) wave or nod back, except of course for Harley riders.

Hi Tim. Thanks for doing the video. These keep me sane over the great british winter. Also, is that a Richa jacket you have on and would you recommend it for winter riding ? as i tend to freeze my t*ts off wearing an old RST Adventure jacket and many layers of t-shirts/jumpers. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
@timrodierides2 ай бұрын
thanks! It’s a Richa Armada (their fancy laminated one that used to cost £1200 but is now about £750). It has no thermal liner but is reasonably thick, and totally windproof so I can ride with a T shirt most of the year round. Otherwise I slap on my zerofit base layers which keep me very warm!

I love winter riding, roads are much quieter, you get togged up for cold/damp weather not hot/cold/wet/whatever and then just stay in that kit, some nice challenging conditions, places I wouldn't usually go to in winter..... bring it on. Weapon of choice, trusty Himalayan that gets cleaned almost never 💪🏼. Stop letting shiny bike syndrome cut your riding time to just 'The Season' ..... we live in the UK not Canada 😂😂😂
