To all you babies crying about it not being an automatic - dress watches aren't everyday watches so manual winding is perfect and appropriate to the dna of this watch. It's not even an homage to the Glasshutte Original as some are accusing it of being, the Classica is based off a design originally appearing in the Vostok catalogue in the 60's.
@galaga88346 жыл бұрын
And when it stops you don't have to worry about a date complication. A true dress watch needs no date function.
@michaelbradley406 жыл бұрын
I actually prefer a hand winder, there is something very satisfying about the daily routine of caring for the watch, it is a mutual relationship, a two way kind of thing that you just need to experience for yourself.

Exact thoughts! Marlin is exceptionally more beautiful compared to Vostok though. If only if came with a stainless steel solid end links tapered bracelet.
@CoPaE5 жыл бұрын
Any arguments to sustain that? Marlin is around $200 with a Miyota movement, which is not awesome to look at. This vostok has a display caseback looking pretty decent and the dials are very similar. How is Marlin 'exceptionally more beautiful'?

I have been collecting Russians for a couple years, a wonderful history of horology I've come to learn they are addicting and the best part is they last forever without a service . They are made in house from raw materials. A lot of Chinese parts are in top brands its nice to know Vostock is start to finish made in house even the mainspring, truly amazing for the money.
@ronrussell567611 ай бұрын
I've had one of these with the blue dial and strap for several years. It's a really comfortable watch to wear, and represents the sort of everyday watch most people wore before 1970 or so. It fits easily under a shirt cuff if you wear long sleeves. The finish overall is a bit better than the four Amphibia that I also own. Accuracy has been very acceptable, within 10 seconds/day, although not up to quartz standards (and I didn't expect it to be). There was an issure when it was new in that the seconds hand would sort of 'stutter' as it passed one area on the dial, however, that has gradually decreased as the movement accumulated hours and is now unnoticeable.

I'll have to save up for a dress Vostok. I like buying products like this that are very good quality and value for the price. Really like how classic it looks. Generally, I haven't worn a watch until recently. However, I've noticed that it's easier for me to keep myself from being distracted by my phone, when checking the time, by wearing a watch.

I'm a HUGE dress watch fan. it's the way watches are meant to be. . . I love the look of the watch (very 50s-60s traditional) and I don't think it's quite fair to call it a ripoff design: the design was ubiquitous back then. Still, I'm up in the air about buying Russian watches.

Those are thermally blued screws, not painted one. The white model 690B21 has also thermally blued hands. And its the same price as the others, $155. It's the one i got. Its absolute stunner. I also own a bambino small seconds which is a great watch. I especially like its size, because i have larger wrists. But vostok classica just takes it to another level. Its insane value for the price.

Good afternoon, dear. My name is Alexei. I'm a military man from Ukraine. I have this question: is it possible to buy a watch from your collection? Namely Casio G-Shock GW-M5610BC. I think It’s a cheap looking Orient Bambino knock off. I think I paid a mere $129 for my Bambino on Amazon. And it fits my little 6-3/4 wrist just fine. I’d take an Orient over a Russian Vostok watch any day. Just my 2¢.
@poopinmair6 жыл бұрын
Steven Wymor What Refrence bambino does this one knock off? Doesnt look anything like Any bambino i have seen, also no need to be salty over this watch , i for instance prefer this to Any bambino and that is mostly due to the dimenssions. I have a 7 1/2 wrist and still like smaller watches, i do like bambinos but would wish the were smaller and thinner
