Honestly, the editing makes these watchable. I want a 40k battle, but I don’t want to spend 3 hours watching it.
@JohnDoe-zl6qw Жыл бұрын
And that's the unfortunate reality of it. Take away the sharp editing and special effects and the game devolves into a 3-hour snoozefest of dice rolling and tape measuring. In a sense, these videos give a false impression of the game. Don't get me wrong, I think what the Play On Tabletop crew does is very entertaining; it's just not an accurate representation of the actual game play. That's not a criticism of Play On Tabletop but, rather, an indictment of the 40K game itself. If Games Workshop could figure out how to make their game leaner, more dynamic, and engaging rather than catering to a small minority of OCD, micro-managing, dice-rollers who would make Roboute Guilliman himself seem laid-back by comparison, maybe they could appeal to a broader audience.
@bombarded15 Жыл бұрын
@@JohnDoe-zl6qw it's not OCD to have complex rules and stats in a strategy game. People who enjoy 40k don't feel like its a slog to roll dice and see what happens. I have been wanting a votann vs tau game for a while now. I think not being farsight hurt here. The problem with kauyon is that you need to stay alive to do stuff for turns 3, 4, and 5 and that can be very difficult against an aggressive army. Votann are pretty aggressive and generally pressure the kauyon player. In the end Mont'ka is the true philosophy of the tau. I am here to continue the campaign to request Tau Nick vs GS Nick vs Guard Nick! Think of all the sound effects! Hopefully, narrated by Nick. Maybe Tau Nick vs Rebel Nick in either star wars legion or 40k game with custom rules for factions.
@zachnoland155 Жыл бұрын
Kayoun redeploy is invaluable and Borkan is by far the best anti shooting Sept. Votann don't allow rerolls of failed wounds effectively nullifying montka's benefit anyway. Nick played the right strategy but the dice said no and Votann already were the much stronger army

The matchup I wanted to see, a test of railgun vs railgun. And the railguns did practically nothing between either army. Also man, this is the game of one wound remaining. @wyatttyson7737 Жыл бұрын
They are """slow""" because their standard movement is 5" rather than 6". I really feel like the people who keep going on and on about how slow they are really are just coping due to the fact that Votann really are as broken as everyone has heard they are, even with the day 1 nerfs.
@michelecastellotti9172 Жыл бұрын
@@wyatttyson7737 cope indeed, fucking hell, the fact that they are slow is completely negated by everything else, it was as if Tau were said to be fragile to compensate for their shooting yet they were as toigh as custodes, and Tau have 2 major flaws, only that melee is mitigated by a stratagem that osts you a CP. Votanns MEDIOCRE movement is completely negated by the rest of their abilities and fighting phases, also they are not really that slow, heck, they are still faster than Nurgle forces including death guard!!!!! And that factions only upside is durability!!! Votanns have great shooting, durability and melee, wtf is this balancing?!

Awesome video guys! If your open to suggestions I have one good one and a few confirming ones that you have covered already. The one idea, is a two parter but it builds on both principles. Adding a complimentary glow, aka a color that directly works with the background, or game mat, when a character or vehicle or anything fires, also brighter effects when firing, like make them glow like they all had tracers!! I had a hard time seeing where the shots were coming from, often having to rewind to see the effect and angle as well. Otherwise, narrating where units are going if the players do not, yes, large dice for Cmd points, yes, Tycho, yes, Nick having his rail gun blow up in his face, yes (but not in a mean way, just, you know, SPLOSIONS!!), JT's innuendos, yes. Background difference instead of table and minis, yes. Great video!

Amazing battle! I am terrified of those tau railguns! I feel like if Nick had a more competitive list he would have destroyed the Votann no problems!
