Voultar, thank you SO much for this wealth of information. I recently imported a heap of my favorite games from japan planning to translate them to english (even bought multiples of some games because they were so cheap as display pieces). This by FAR is the most valuable resource to doing this. After decontaminating myself of the cesspit of certain forums it was a great relief to watch your video and hear your ASMR worthy voice to see such a clean solution. You are a great teacher.

For the stacker, I would have thought you'd have a hole routed out in the stacker PCB then solder in the chip upside down on the bottom of the board, to keep it thin. If the PCB house is any good, you can use that hole for pin alignment as well. Maybe for V2? Thinner PCBs = easier to solder the stack together. Also, why not a 32mbit chip, instead of 2 16mbit chips?

If I recall correctly, you can dump n64 games and save files with a GameShark Pro. Unforunately the interface to do this requires a parallel port (printer port) which are defunct in favor of wifi and USB. You said there is no GUI way of doing this, and for a SNES I agree, but I think I inadvertently did this while messing around with the GameShark as a teenager and was surprised that it was even a feature, lol. I don't think they really advertised it. Daamn this is amazing and a lot easier than replacing maskroms or building a repro from scratch by using one on those new PCBs, but for someone like me who only owns a few SFC games and want them translated is not cost effective :/ the dumper, then the programmer, then soldering the small flashrom chip is much complicated... if only someone would sell the prebuilt PCBs already flashed and soldered so i just have to solder the PCBs to the original maskrom it would be PERFECT.

Very nice. The only thing which annoyed me was no narration about the extra little chip on the S. Stacker but I am sure the aforementioned documentation at the end will resolve that. I am pleased to see there are alternatives which are being created to the mess of wires which make amateur mods look like Hollywood-inspired time bombs. Hopefully for the NES video you recall your previous content with wiring up an NES ROM and comparing it to the new method for showing how easy it is your NES hardware would be to use for translations and mods. The only one caveat is no ease of removal, but there's no reason to have a bunch of mods available on chips when those can just be IPS patched and ran in emulators so no big deal there _as long as one's image is their own._
