Donbass is all in trenches. They were build for 8 years, and nazi can move troops to any direction of attack. Plus those fortifications are artillery positions too, so moving near them is costly too. City combats are a little more protected from artillery fire, than open fields, even with trenches.

RU employs a war of attrition. Attack, pause, wait for counter attack, annihilate enemy. If there's no counter attack, advance then pause. If counter attack is too strong, retreat to a more favorable position then annihilate enemy, then advance, pause and wait again. Wash rinse repeat.

I saw the same video(the FAB strikes) in one of the russian military TG channel. They were reporting that those are TOS flamethrower strikes. So we got different reporting from different sources. But i still think that those are likely not FABs, because there were 5 strikes. Never seen more thn 4 FAB strikes in 1 footage.

it seems to me that the Kharkiv offensive has or had only one task. Exhaust the Ukrainian forces, or move reinforcements from other parts of the fortress. And for me, the Russians are doing well. Furthermore, it doesn't look like the Russians want to make much progress on this front. It is clear that beyond the borders in their territory they have enough strength to maintain this situation, or even open another line, for example in the Summ region. How long can the Ukrainians continue to lose 500 or 1000 or more soldiers a day?

The Russians don't just rush people into the fight, they destroy the Ukrainian positions before they send in infantry to clear the area. This is something the Ukrainians can't do as well due to their lacking firepower. Are the Russians loosing people? Yes, but the Ukrainians are loosing much more. Do you get it now?

I find this hard to watch now. Its a thresher for endless young men and women to be fed into and with no great purpose. The ground shifts at the pace of WW1 and no one is stepping in to find a feasible solution. It's become a battle over car parks that serve as temporary graveyards. No one is moving back into those ruins and those who do will lead a terrible life. This whole debacle, makes Vietnam look like a productive exercise. The West needs to swallow it's pride and negotiate terms. That is not to say that Russia is without blame, obviously, but only the West can end this. Putin has no desire to "own" a pile of smoking rubble. It's Stalingrad writ large.

Ukraine is surely using the latest US surveillance drones that allow for battle field reconnaissance. At least ones they are willing to sacrifice if need be. The Russians should capture some to examine their capabilities and reverse engineer the technology if need be. How about launching a drone with a big net and scoop one up midair to retrieve it. Also, I noticed in a video that showed a Ukrainian drone attacking a Russian refinery. It approached unopposed from the left. Turned left, went behind then sharply turned right circling. Came back around in front to the left then made a 180 and crashed into the column described I think as the fractionator then exploded. This fractionator it said is the most crucial part of the refinery system. It was clear to me that the drone was being controlled by someone using live video that also knew the most effective point to strike. With this sort of drone technology why go through the hassle to transfer it to untrained Ukrainians? Just have the experienced combat crew in the Nevada desert run the op in real time using satellite links. This crew can then go home and hug their beautiful children. Just another day at work.

Those are smaller FABs. If you are hiding in soviet style buildings, you could survive the 500-1500 ones depending on luck. Those are incredibly sturdy constructed to withstand indirect pressure waves of nearby nukes. A closely placed 3000 though starts to be dangerous.

FAB-3000 with UMPK kit: I read that we are just now seeing this weapon in action because Russia had to design the kit. Another problem is having enough aircraft that can deliver it. (I read that there are also a FAB-6000 and a FAB-9000.) It might make sense to launch the FAB-3000 from a higher altitude. This could increase the number of aircraft used to launch the weapon that might not be suited to operate as close to the theater of operation. So then you would have more aircraft successfully launching more weapons with greater range. They could also use an evasive preprogrammed flight path or operator control like an FPV drone. Was the FAB-3000 exploded above the ground, maybe 25 meters up? It is the shock wave that gets the job done. Don't waste any of that force creating a crater 15 meters deep. Will the Russians add some sort of propulsion to this FAB-3000? Perhaps just a rocket assist or a small motor?

If that large explosion from last video was FAB-3k, then, it would seem the bomb did not properly go off, more like disintegrated before going off. Chemical reaction travels in excess of 8 km/s, so it should be nearly instanteous and pretty even. Looked like a huge fireball instead of shockwave and leveling up the place. Just my impression, I think it did not go off properly.

I noticed throughout the war that Russians have sort of "trident"🔱 tactic when it comes to attacking. Sort of like Bull's head of the Zulus. Loins and horns, but in this case, it's often the loins that do the finishing blow instead of horns, like at Avdivka, or all three axes of attack are doing the concentrated attacks.
