your bluesy playstyle is quite amazing and people love it especially on clean, crunch or low distortion. i think a good mix between both you and rob would make an even better review since it would show all the tonal aspects of an amp.

@@captainamerica9353 I know you posted this 4 months ago, so hopefully you’ve found one by now. But in case you haven’t gotten one yet and you still want one- there are a bunch of used ones on Reverb right now! I just got one of them for $580 (before shipping cost and tax, of course, but still great!). A HANDWIRED, all-tube, classic top-boost Vox amp for under $600 is an excellent deal imo. I have literally not read even 1 single negative review of this amp- every single review glowing, saying things like “maybe the best amp I’ve ever played” or “you will use this amp for the rest of your life”.

I love this amp and use it exclusively for recording and home practice. It has that classic superb Vox tone. I didn't want to pay for an AC 30 due to them being so one dimensional. But I still wanted to have the option for that Vox sound and this hits it perfect. I play a 76 Stratocaster, Fender Telecaster and a Gibson Sg through it. It also handles boutique pedals well. I use a Fender Supersonic Twin 100 for gigging due to versatility.

@snappingturtle the ac15hw with a greenback 12" is around £900. Add £350 ish for Alnwick blue. Quite a different beast to the standard ac15. Good demo guys, played on the ac15hw in the store the other day, loved it compared to blues junior and orange tc30, but think this will suit me even better.

Vox has the best clean tones in the biz, that's it though. Even with the gain up all the way up, you are limited to classic rock gain. Don't expect metal or hard rock. If you can look past that, it really is amazing quality.

I appreciate this is rather an old amp now, but none of the dealer reviews seem to make reference to the annoying transformer ‘humming’ sound common to each and every one of these amps produced. This ‘fault’ makes them less than ideal for recording purposes. The second glaring question, which may have an obvious answer is, how do you attenuate the output when the ‘closed by a thousand screws’ back makes access to the speaker jack impossible? Fantastic demo and tones by the way!
@mattjaxe91069 жыл бұрын
Really thinking about buying this amp it sounds amazing! Btw if you want to sound like brian may you need the red special, you wont sound like him using any other guitar even through a vox amp trust me
@andrei87x11 жыл бұрын
they run it through some heavy distortion pedals, that's why it souds so saturated. more than that, they said that even for the clean tones, the amp is cranked at 3/4 both on gain and volume and they back up volume on the guitar until the tone cleans out. this also give more saturation since the tubes run hotter than having volume on guitar on max and amp on low. though i don't see this as a problem, i agree with you that sparkly cleans have their own character that sounds amazing.

I've got a AC4TV8 for practice, and it's 'fine'. But speaker out to a 12" Eminience in a birch wood cabinet is a whole different world. It doesn't approach the handwired, but it's close. I've played the handwired, and it is bad-ass and loud. I'm basically gonna make a birch cab, drop in a 12" speaker, and use it that way.

I'm not Chappers but I can tell you that the Kemper and the Fractal are not the same thing. The Kemper is not an amp modeler per se, it's a profiler. Basically, if you have an amp that you love you can ''capture'' it's tone (you hook it up to mics) and store it into your Kemper. The Fractal is a preamp and an effects processor, you can create a sound from scratch with it but you'll need a power amp with it. Both are very good at what they do.

AC4C1-BL is a fantastic little amp that costs just little over 200 pounds. Maybe less if there is a sale. Bugeras are cheap and appear to be good. Saw a vid here not long ago of a guy playing Gretsch G100CE through one. But don't you guys just use solid state amps for jazz? Wasn't that the reason for Roland Jazz Chorus creation?
@RenoWeedLajos5 жыл бұрын
i probably buy the VOX 4C BL. it is cheaper.and also smaller but sounds about the same good. I just wonder about the weight. they are very heavy. nearly 20 pounds. 10 kilo. could you recommend a better rock amp for this price ? if not, I will go for the VOX AC4bl.

@MarianoBillinghurst7 жыл бұрын
I like the amp but given it does not have send and receive connectors, and if want to use a pedal + the tube for distortion, wouldn't that sound bad having a delay and reverb before the amp? I would have to mic the amp, and then after the mics I should put the delay and reverb, am I right? which would only be useful for recording or routing to a main console.
